I don't have much 1
A few euros on my books2
Favours owed that translate 3
To cigerettes and pens4
Pads of paper and haircuts5
I don't have much6
A battered and scarred body7
Crooked teeth in a smile8
That never reaches my eyes9
Roughened hands from work10
Dirty fingernails that 11
Just will not get clean12
I don't have much 13
Heaps of baggage and pain14
Memories that haunt 15
Dreams that steal sleep16
Addictions which cripple17
A temper that flares 18
Sometimes without warning19
I don't have much20
A heart that needs loving21
A soul that needs tending22
A dream that needs nurturing23
A mind that needs soothing24
A love that tis strong...25
These are all I have to give you.26

Now I do like the way you repeat I don't have much. It works for me. This is a well written poem that you use imagery in well. Thanks for sharing this and thanks for entering this into my contest.

Gorgeous
heart-wrenching to read yet so painfully beautiful in its honesty. Reminded me a lot of myself, actually, because I'm pretty raw in the sense that I have that "nobody touch me" attitude and a bad temper
Love can embrace the darkest of hearts. Great job

This is great T, very raw and honest, and it's true that you bring a lot of baggage into a relationship, but the true things like your heart, soul, mind, and love are what is most important.

-
Your heart is loved greatly, your soul is tended patiently, that dream will be nurtured willingly, your mind shall be soothed with joy and the love is returned 10 fold.
-
That love is all I need because it is the most precious thing in the world.
