In honour of my sparkling sword,1
For the sake of evil and of good,2
In honour of my wondrous land,3
Which time shifts around like the golden sand,4

For the laugh of a child,9
For wind and rain wild,10
Like the milky white moon,11
Or a baby’s first croon,12
As a pearl held by thread,13
Or a path none hath tread,14
As a craftsman knows his work,15
As the shadows of night lurk,16
Know each diamond you possess,17
That you may miss them if they grow less,18
Keep them safe and admire their shine each day,19
For these are the kind that could walk away,20
So for the honour of yourself,21
Of your being, of your soul,22
Keep them beside you, keep yourself whole.
