Dance to the music playing in your soul full of fiery reds and sapphire blues. Move to the rythm of what you know is right. Don't stop- just always keep moving forward- little steps at a time into tolerance and acceptance . Use your voice to speak up for yourself and the others who can't speak up. I hear you giggling in the corner of the studio and I hear you , your voice raised the loudest all the time. Be the most confident and strong in what you believe- you don't have to be loud do do that. Dance for all of those who once believed they shouldn't dance becaues they wren't good enough or pretty enough or anything enough. Dance for everyone who has ever been silenced- use your movement to tell stories and to give people a voice. Your blonde curls bounce on your head as you play around with your friends but I know you are a fighter because I've seen you try so hard for something you want or for something that no one else would think matters.1
Twist and twirl and stay one step ahead of the shadows struggling to hold you back and give you limits to cage you. Smile and laugh as you move and give others reason to believe that they should just reach high. Be yourself and shine on the dance floor as you turn and kick and leap. Every time you fall, refuse to let it hold you down and stand up again. Give those who feel like they only fall, a reason to keep getting up again. You might be only five- dancing around in a studio , learning the basics of dance but you are still our future. Dance in the name of freedom and being free to make choices- choices you were born with that other people had to fight for. Dance even without music playing and dance for those who don't dance because others told them they can't. Move to the beat of understanding and listening and fighting for those who can't fight for themselves. You will be a force in this world- and the dance that takes you through this life will define the people around you affected by you. Just Dance!
