Fiery Dreams

She was just a girl when her family abandoned her. They told her that they had no use for an angel with a broken wing. So she was cast out into the velvet ebony of night to fend for herself.
She walked along the bumpy gravel of the country roads of her former home. It was so dark. She didn't think she could recall a time when the night had ever been as dark as it was just now. She trudged along as the cold December rains began to fall, praying for the lights of an oncoming car to cast her shadow across the road.
Then something changed. There was this sound. A sound unlike any other she had ever heard. A deep feral, menacing growl. She was being hunted. She could smell fear. She began to run and as she ran, she became disoriented. Where was she? These weren't the roads of her youth. She was lost and whatever was behind her was swiftly closing in.
The winds begin to roar and the trees to quiver in horror. It was as if they understood what was to become of her, but had no way of telling her.
She suddenly found herself lost in the forest with the demons of hell nipping at her tender young heels. What was she going to do? Who would save her now? What had she done to come to this fate? The smell of death and decay were all around her. She gagged at the intensity of it. Oh God, help me! She screamed on a broken sob.
The darkness surrounding her took on a sinister glow. A terrifying red haze. It felt as if someone had opened an oven door in her face. Suddenly she could see the gates of Hell in front of her. How had she come to this place? Where was her God now? Would he save her?
The gates began to glow casting a fiery light around the trees. A voice began to beckon her. Come in love, it said. We are waiting for you. We will fix your wing. Among us you will fly again. What was she to do? Should she step through the gates of Hell to mend her broken wing? Someone help? Please give me the answers.
Jerking awake, she found herself safe and warm in her bed. In the gloomy light of dawn, she smelled the scent of lilacs. She was safe.

well what do you think?
