I never thought I would ever find myself here on storywrite. Being a writer never crossed my MIND. I Mean, I’ve always read books, written reports for school, just things like that, but I had never thought about taking writing as my chosen career. But then two things changed my mind.11
I read a book. It was "Star girl" by Jerri Spenelli. Man was that book something else. The way he wrote it and the way every word flowed, I knew it was something of pure genius. I didn’t really think at first that by reading that book almost every day that I wanted to become a writer, yet.22
Then our English teacher gave us an assignment. "I want everyone in here to write a children’s book. 50 pages no more no less." At first I thought I would die. "I can’t write a book!" I thought as I was in the process of making it. But my children’s book turned out to be something else. I got an A+ on it and i had the highest grade in the class.33
"You have something for writing Dawn." The teacher told me before I left for Christmas break. It really made me feel proud. That’s when I decided to write my first story called "Becoming Leah" and soon after i revise it i will put it here on storywrite.44
And then I came back to Jerri Spenelli. I remembered how much i liked his book Star Girl and decided whenever I got stuck on something or decided to give up on writing I would look back to him for inspiration.

This is a wonderful write and an inspiration to us all. You have found your nitch in life I think. You do need some spell checking done though because I did see some spelling errors but really not many and it didn't really take away from the story. Just be careful about that when sending something in to be graded. Always have someone re-read what you have written and point out errors. Or check it with spell check. All in all this is a very well written story and also, it flows well. Thanks for sharing this with us. And thanks for entering it into my contest.

That's awesome! Actually, I got an A+ on that assignment, also. Lol. And did you know that after you write Becoming LEah and I was the first one to read it and give you criticism, that inspired me to write my first story. Which, ny the way, totally sucked. And Dawn knows that. Hehe.
But thanks Dawn for helping me get better and not letting me give up on writing after I wrote that horrible first story! You're the best best friend EVER!
