Meeting the Characters

I am sitting in a room, palely lit by two lamps that perch upon my desk. A couch is in the center of the room, an armchair placed on either side, and a glass coffee table in between. Seated on the couch are three people, one occupies a chair. I sit at the desk, notebook and pencil in hand, observing my guests. 1

"So, would you all like to tell me a little about yourselves?" I began.2

A man raised his hand, shaking back and forth energetically. I nodded to him, indicating he could speak. He smiled at me cheerily, and settled back into the sofa's cushions. He was reminding me of a little kid. 3

"Hiya, guys and gurls!! My names for me to know, and me only, but considering the fact YOU created me, I'll tell you." 4

I rolled my eyes, and looked at the other black faces. "That's nice of you, really it is, Matt. Can someone else tell me something?" 5

Matt practically jumped out of his seat. "Please!! Please let me tell them!!! Ohhh, please please please?!" 6

I glared. "Your supposed to be a mature character, and your acting like a kid."7

Another man snorted, shifting his position and growling aloud, "Hah. You made him, he's just acting out his part. Though why you made some guy like him and didn't pay more attention to me, I'll never know."8

I whacked myself in the face, frustrated. "Kevin, please don't talk out of turn!"9

He smirked and folded his arms across his chest, throwing an impudent glace at me. "What are you gonna do about it?" 10

I turned, exasperated, and motioned toward a girl, seated in an armchair. "Syti, please, will you...?"11

She shrugged, casting a quick, uneasy glace about the room. "Ah, my names Syti, and I know you made me because you like strong women figures, and wanted me to be one...I guess...Um, I really like being YOUR character though...because you always know just what to do!!"12

I smiled and jotted down something in the notebook. "Thanks Syti! That's nice of you. Anyone else?"13

Kevin scratched his chin, as if thinking. "Well, you know me. I'm that cute guy who kills people for their blood. The only way I'd like you is if you had tasty blood."14

I grimaced and edged backwards in my seat. "Um, yeah...Matt?"15

Matt pointed to the girl next to him. "Your so Coolio! Right?"16

She nodded enthusiastically, grinning. "Yes!! You rock, Hannah!!" She gave me a thumbs up. 17

I removed my glasses and rubbed my eyes. "Lissy, you like everyone."18

Lissy smirked. "You sure?"19

"What’s that supposed to mean?"20

She shrugged. "I dono. It mean, 'you sure', I think."21

"Smart Alec." I a crumpled piece of paper and threw it at her. 22

Kevin caught it. "Nasty, are we?" 23

I stuck out my tongue at him. "Quiet, you! I made you, and I can take you out of her just as easily!!"24

He smiled. "Is that a threat?" 25

Matt stood up. "She doesn't threat!! Leave her alone!!! We owe our being to her!!"26

Kevin stood up, too. "Oh yah? She's just a normal girl. I don't see why I have to answer to her."27

Lissy frowned and glanced at Syti. "I don't like where their taking this..."28

I dogged behind the desk as Kevin hurled a lamp at Matt. "You can't tell me what to do, fool!! I could kill you!!" 29

"No violence please..." Lissy protested.30

Kevin stomped down his foot. "Violence?! Leave me alone!! I'm a vampire, we live for violence!!"31

Syti joined me along with Lissy. We sat there, hidden by the desk, listening to the men quarrel. Syti looked at me. "Can we leave? I don't want to be dragged into this."32

I peeped over the desktop, then ducked down again. "Nether do I. Come on, lets go hang out. Its not every day I get to meet my characters first hand."33

Lissy shoved me playfully as we slipped quietly from the room. "Except me, of course!! I'm based off a real person."34

I left the door open behind me, pausing as I listened to Matt and Kevin fighting within. 35

"Ow!! You jerk, that was my foot!!"36

"Ha, your blood tastes like rotten meat. Stop getting it in my mouth!!"37

"Your the one biting my arm!! You stop attacking me!!"38

I shook my head as I followed Syti and Lissy away. 39

They threw their arms about my shoulders, Syti commenting matter-of-factly, "Well, men will be men."40

I laughed aloud. "Hehe, but I never thought those two would be at each others throats."41

Lissy giggled, tapping Syti's arm. "Don't you mean, 'kids will be kids'?"42

I nodded sagely. "Yep. That fits them!!" 43

Hand and hand, Syti, Lissy, and I wandered off, leaving Kevin and Matt behind to argue.44

That is how I found out what it is like to meet your characters.45
