What inspires me to write? How could a person narrow their inspiration down to one thing? I see a record from the 70's, I see an old hat, I see a small white house with a window smashed, I see a cup of tea sitting on my desk. Something has to pop out at me. I see mystery in things. I think things like how did that window in the house get smashed? Or who is the person who owned that hat, where was the hat before it got to them? I create a character, I wonder what are their struggles and how can they overcome them? I get to know the character like I know myself, my friends, my family. I know the town in which they live in, who lives there, and how they got there. I see my characters day to day life, there is always something about my characters that nobody else in the story knows. It is kept secret. I have wrote about my own secrets, things I could not tell a single person. Revealing your own secrets to the story make them come alive. When the characters come alive, so does the story.
