The Spiritual Evolution of Man (Essay)

Humanity and its many races, in the beginning of civilization were very warring and tribal. Their needs were more instinctually based. Therefore, man first needed to evolve on a material plane of existence.1

Religion was created to control the tribe and bring about a semblance of meaning, purpose, direction and order. Their boundaries of thought were narrow. Focused on the physical needs of food clothing and shelter. Therefore, it was quite easy to instill a belief system of a singularly focused being of ultimate power. It filled a void that their small-minded thinking could accept. Their God, was the one and only true God in their minds.2

As a result of this closed minded belief system, countless wars were fought and millions of lives lost, in the name of their God! 3

This line of thought and belief ignited an evolution of creativity in metallurgy and weaponry. It all began when one tribes growth and expansion of the landscape, began to overlap the boundaries of another tribes. They felt obligated to impose their belief system on their neighbors and frequently wars would erupt. The land would be taken and the people, who would not convert, would either be enslaved or slaughtered in the name of their God!4

The first cause and effect that was brought about, was the Bronze Age. Then followed by the Iron Age. Fishing boats grew to be boats of war. Steel was borne and gunpowder gave birth to cannon. As a material / industrial revolution began. Gaining momentum through the centuries, mans boundaries of thought, began to expand. The industrial revolution began to elevate mankind to a higher plane of accomplishments. Mans needs became less arduous and laborious to accomplish. As basic human needs were made easier, there was a void left open where the spirituality that is the core essence of humanity could now finally surface. The first evidence of this was shown in music and the arts. It flourished and grew. It plucked at the wellsprings of the soul that each human felt, but did not understand.5

When scientists first split the atom, it marked the beginning of the end of man looking at the world around him in three dimensions. It spawned a level of thought and creativity that the world had never before seen. Men of science began to draw on the spiritual part of their being, which would go on to influence the things they would create. Some of them, way ahead of their time, began to see that, Space, Time and thought were not the separate things they appeared to be! 6

The threat of nuclear war, at first, pushed the world further apart. Then, the fear of global nuclear destruction, served to draw the world closer together. The majority of the worlds nations, drew together to form a coalition of voices. Trading ideas, goods and assistance to those in need. A chorus of voices working together to create a harmony, that will some day, become a world group consciousness. Boundaries have begun to vanish. Prejudice has become diminished. There is a growing concern about the health of the earth itself. The poisoning of the world’s air and water supplies. The extinction of certain species, if heeded will serve as a warning for mankind. If not….., it will start a domino effect that will ultimately end with the human race7

From a spiritual point of view, God is all around us. In the sky above us, and the ground below us. In us and all the creatures that walk, swim and fly over the earth. In the grand scheme of things, God is the universe!8

If all life on earth would cease to exist and the sun go super nova, God would not shed a tear. The spirituality of the universe is beyond good and evi! It views both with equal importance. Both are needed to affect positive change.9

Humanity stands on a, presuppose. We will either learn to fly as individuals and as a whole, embracing the spirituality that we keep deep inside ourselves and all around us. Or we will be10

flushed from the cosmos. Just as our body’s flush dead cells from our system, without tears or regret, so will the universal body of God, do also. The choice is ours. We stand, at the presuppose. Shall we fly or fall...11

Very interesting. I saw both sides. And it's weird because I was actually having a similar conversation with my sister just yesterday. I liked this. You presented it well. Thanks for entering!
