Dew laced the luscious grass, making it sparkle in the sun. Light shone down through gaps in the green canopy above, illuminating fruits of all shapes and sizes.1
Drops still spiraling down from the leaves waving gently above landed on the gleaming pears and cherries. The pears were nobbled, rough surfaces slick with water. They were perfectly ripe, a lush green with a tinge of healthy orange starting to creep across it's skin, careful at first but gradually gaining confidence. Cherries, perfectly round, a wonderful red. They were as full and soft as the lips that would eat them. The fruit curved softly into a heart, a love shared by the other cherry joined to it with a long, perfect stalk.2
Oranges and lemons were lying on the blades of grass, making a slight imprint on the lovely carpet of green. Juice leaked from half-oranges as the light flung into sharp definition the intricate pores full of liquid that seemed to long to be bit into. They were abrupt to first touch, but they warmed gently to the fingers that caressed them. Lemons lay brightly, soaking up the sun's warm embrace. They glimmered in the attention, so sweet on the outside. The golden yellow of them gave no clue of the sourness that lay inside.3
Blueberries and strawberries fell daintily from healthy plants reaching yearningly up to the canopy. They showered the other fruits, leaving traces of colour wherever they land. Blueberries smiled up at you, seeming black at first glance but with closer inspection merging into a clear blue. Rainbow light danced across the perfect surface, a skin that was so smooth that your teeth slide off it unless you press hard enough to sink them into the soft flesh inside. Strawberries covered in small seeds cuddled vulnerable against larger fruits. The taste was instantaneous, a burst of sweetness unique to only it. The goodness lasted on your tongue for second afterwards, making you long to try another.4
Apples and blackberries, a strange pair. The apples are the image of boldness, transferred in image as well as taste. The crisp skin as it breaks and you land into the perfect mixture of softness and hardness. Blackberries with small lumps protruding from the main body, reverse dimples that seem to add to their glamour. Biting them off one by one and feeling the juice inside seep out.5
Creative Raspberries seem to bristle with life, barely contained energy as the lay next to it's brethren, adding the rainbow to the mix. The sun shines off it, giving them a more refined air, lying stately.6
Blossoms grow eagerly, anticipating the day when the will bloom into the exquisite fruits that litter the amazing grass. The birds chirp in the trees, watching as every now and again a berry or apple twist free of it's stalk and falls to Earth, to land gently on the green carpet. Normal flowers seed the landscape, adding touches of white into the paint ball. Mint weaves carefully through the feast, giving flavour to the taste and image.7
The sky beamed down on them all, home of the sun that brought them to life, and now illuminates them.

Wow I loved this! So descriptive and elegant like. I loved the way that you described their outer image and their tastes. I love fruit so it's amazing to have them all described in this way, from hard and crisp apples to juicy blackberries.
"Strawberries covered in small seeds cuddled vulnerable against larger fruits. The taste was instantaneous, a burst of sweetness unique to only it." - I love it.
Thank-you so much for entering this beautiful entry. I love descriptions and fruit so the two together just makes me feel..happy. Weird but oh well. Great job and thanks for entering.
