"Let us remember"3

The sight was on target4

the finger squeezed slow5

The world would now suffer6

Its most devastating blow7

He slumped in his seat8

as death took its hold9

This giant among men10

so brave and so bold11

The news of this day12

shocked the world in appall13

So much a human14

yet standing so tall15

He gained admiration16

through his deeds far and near17

He alleviated somewhat18

the world of its fear19

Thank God for the time20

He was able to spend21

As the head of his country22

to lead and defend23

May his soul rest in peace24

His image never dim25

For he asked not of his country26

But his Country of Him27
