This is really neat to find, I am new to this site. I have been researching for a book I have been working on the last 5 years,it deals with Native American lore,myth an there faith. The Dead sea Scrolls and the Urim an Thurimm. Well I came up for a name for my self really two I am torn between. The frist is (Nauck) it means {lord of the ice} and refers to the Great White Bears of the North. That was my frist choice but non the less I am leaning more to (Danceing Mongoose as to my christan faith), I think for the more I study I side with The Lakota ideas of names and what they mean. A great book to read to understand my views of name picking with animals comes with a great many books one of the Books I have used to understand names has been (Phases of the mind),(Spirit filled temperant)by {Doctor Tim Layhe of The Left Behind Books} it's Great Stuff I recomend it to any one of any faith. I am sleepy writing this I hope I get it right ie the names of the books and two I am not useing spell check an I am a losy speller. Well other name's of books I use are {The Lakota Way} it is a book alot like the {Hinds feet on high places}. These books I have been using to help me write my book and picking names out. I love or should one of the things I reall injoy is studing words and there orgins an the faiths of the world. Names words there is so much to be learned from just one word. Great words Great works of words our Spirit speaking it's enternity with our flesh our toung. I like the name from the hebrew Word {Elisheva oath of my God} and still greater yet {Israel one who fights with God}. the last drives me more when I think the one who named the life she carryed a woman, to think back as a father laying in bed at night watching the belly of my wife her flesh tight in the moon light as a foot then hand pounding away as she was a sleep.......the name Israel came even more alive. It seams to me names with Native Americans was just as deep. like the name I have given one of the main people in my story (Danceing Morning sun on water) I got it reading the Bible pslams 104.3 as I was kayaking at sun rise. The Name of my Book is Elisheva The Return of the White Buffalo Cafe Woman. Well that is enough for one night it is 03:28 am.
A good Song to fill your thoughts of names an animals I find helpfull is {We are all just dreams} by Johnny White Horse. it is Native American Flute music. The Word flute means To make a voice.....
