I'm lost

I'm lost like a flower in a sand storm
Wondering where I should go or turn
Knowing I need to find something to form
This person of who I am, as I'm trying not to run
It is tempting and almost to easy
Having to stop and back track, by looking ahead
Because I want to be able to show my true beauty
There is nothing worse then feeling so dead1

Your insides ache with pain
As everyone tells you that your okay
They don't know, they will never know
Of how you truly feel
Like you've been given a deck of cards that you have to deal
But when it comes to you having a good hand
You notice that your luck is truly bad
You can't even look yourself in the mirror
All you see is complete terror
As if someone put a shield over your eyes
Covering them until your blind
Of all that is truly there
and of the people that do care
You begin to feel as if you are being rained on
Wondering where you belong
You begin to convince yourself that you are nothing
Nothing, but over all you are something
Something that is wonderful and unique
For your the only that can beat
This darkness that you have created
For one day a light will be tainted2

You begin to wake up from this evil spell
As if a wicked witch had given you a potion
Your eyes slowly open and now you can finally tell
That all that worrying and commotion
Was just a bad dream
You embrace this new revival
Sewing it back together at the seams
That you did make it through your worse trial3

Happiness is just the key
That we can only find, to be able to be free
You are beautiful in every way
Remind yourself of that every day
We are all struggling to find ourselves
Wanting to get off that shelf
That we have put ourselves on
So feel that we do belong4

I was lost, but only for awhile
Now I can go on with my life carrying a smile
