I have known Amanda since I was about nine years old. I had a crush on her dad before I ever knew her. The first time we met was in third grade during third grade. For many years her sister was my best friend and Amanda and I loathed each other. Every time we were in the same room we fought and argued. Over time things started to get better for the two of us, we started to discover that we had a lot more in come then we thought. After we got over the jealousy, we became the best of friends. After we finally started high school we were almost inseparable. Everyday is a new adventure with Amanda, some days it’s great others it isn’t so hot. We still argue at times but other times we laugh and enjoy all the time we have together. We have spent more time together then apart, road trips to Wichita Falls, Mineral Wells and other places, hangout in her bedroom or house, and even just setting in the car listening to music. 1

The most memorable moment I can think of is when we went to Wichita Falls right after she got her license. It was the first time she had been out of Graham and I was her only guest. It was a great trip, she only tried to wreck twice, and they were minor accidents. We went to the mall and walked around everywhere, Hot Topic, The Buckle, and JC. Pennies. The best part about this day was there being no parents, or other huge responsibilities. The only thing we had to worry about was making it home safe and sound. We goofed around acting like we were about ten years old. We ate at Taco Bell, gorging ourselves, and heading out the door almost unable to walk. Heading home, not much talking went on but the silence was nice after so much excitement. 3

Every time I think back to the days of our childhood, I wonder why I did hate her so much. Our friendship has grown so much over the last four-year. We are closer then most sisters and I realize why, She is caring and I enjoy her company. She listens to anything I have to say no matter how stupid it may seem to me. I listen to her problems and try to help to the best of my abilities. The one thing I enjoy most about her is the fact that I can tell her anything I wanted kept secret and it is kept between only us. I have also figured out exactly why I disliked her as much as I did. At that time, she was cruel to me because she was jealous of what her sister and me had. Every time I think of our young days, I remember how many promises were broken and all the secrets that were told to the world. I couldn’t trust her as far as I could throw. I guess age and maturely fixed that problem. 5

As I sat talking on the phone with her, I write this out and all the memories come back to me. I hope to be friends forever and if that isn’t possible I wish to at least remember her forever. She will hold a warm spot in my heart. A quotation comes by William Blake comes to mind, "Thy friendship oft has made my heart ache do be my enemy – for friendships sake."7

i wrote this for her tonight..she has an english paper due and she needes a friend/family member to write about them as friends so i did it...
nothing special for anyone else..just for my benefit really...
