Mix some facts into the fiction, just to prove knowledge.1
Time travel? -2
As in a lady accidently finds a tomb and sets off a time machine, send her back to a historic milestone like bubonic plague or one of the world wars, add some little known or well known info in, but so well that nobody notices, it try to that but fail.3
Shapeshifting? -4
Turns into an animal and fights off another evil who is also a shapeshifter but in different animals, wolf - dog, mouse - rat, that kind of thing.5
Genetic Engineering? -6
Kid brought up in a scientific facility and has DNA from other animals merged into him/her. Like eagle DNA, gives him/her wings, fishes - fins and gills, ect. Race against time around the world because the kid escaped the research and scientists want the kid back. (more science fiction but close enough) You could create merged monsters to verse the kid.7
Hope you like one of my ideas, try and give at least a vague sketch about what you want.

You know, your second prompt sounds a lot like the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. If you like that sort of idea, I would recommend reading his books. ^_^ They're a lot of fun to read (I read them my senior year in HS and loved them, so you should be a just the right age too!).
Thanks for entering!
