A good choice for a peeve and a worthy winner. Some people spend their lives making up lies and stories about others. I've had my fair share of it, and in the past I've indulged in it myself. But it's hurtful and horrid. As Thumper's mother advised him in Bambi "If you cain't say nutthin nice, don't say nutthin at all". Best Wishes.

You couldn't have written about anything more true than this. This is probably first on the list for many of us. As always, you did an excellent job on putting this peeve into poetry.
    Thanks for entering!~vj

Gossip is stupid! Half the time it isn't even true... Just some people trying to make themselves look better or someone else look worse! It's one of my biggest pet peeves as well. Nice poem. keep writting!

Simply and yet "so profoundly ascribed..." I especially like the first line, "Under words of clutter," for actors need lots of attention and usually have heaps of clutter; because “THEY HAVE A THOUSAND AND ONE EXCUSES WHY THEY'VE NOT ANY STINKY-POO-!” Bravo-, as BonnieQ said; this is par excellent, Sam-.

Oh, this is excellent, Sam: definitely one of my pet peeves, as well. I've never understood fully why anyone lies. After all, it's such a chore to remember them all. It's just so much easier to speak the truth, consequences or not; for the truth is easy to remember.

Good luck in the contest! Love and hugs, B♥nnieQ

I can't stand that kind of people neither! I don't understand why some people just keep on lieing and spreading gossip, cause truth stays the strongest and will always reveal after a long or a short time!

    Great acrostic you've written here!

    Oh bravo.
I get tired of hearing things about people. I do not really even care if they are in fact the truth. They are things I do not want to know.
Often times a rumor is grounded in truth, but taken fully out of context like misquoted Bible verses.
You have stepped out on a limb here Sam and i will stand under you and support you so that it does not break
    God Bless
    Susan

Wonderful acrostic. This is a shared pet peeve with many of us I am sure. You have really done a good job of writing about it though. Why is it that some people can only feel good about themselves by trying to make others feel bad? Not only just to their face either, but behind their backs they say things that they know will be taken the wrong way and leave the wrong impression about someone else. Some folks never do have a good word to say about anyone... except themselves of course! Good luck! and God Bless, Penny

I know what you mean. If you can't say something good about someone else, why can't you keep you mouth shut. I know I've gossiped and I know there is a secret pleasure in doing it, but it is just wrong. Some of the "best" gossips, sadly, are in the Church and cause such undue strife and pain. Great topic and excellent write. God bless you Sam.
