People are like ships on a sea. They come together for company and guidance, but they don’t stay that way forever.1

There are stages in a person’s life. Sometimes, a person is lucky enough to find someone who grows with them for a very long time, and this is beneficial to both parties. But more often than not, two ships come together for the wrong reasons: sometimes its ignorance; a failure to think properly or to listen to ones heart. But more often, it is fear, and two ships cling to one another because the ocean is so wide and vast and scary, and they end up making each other miserable, and parting in bitterness.2

No relationship should be like this. A relationship should be a partnership, in a journey, for mutual benefit. A relationship should nurture growth, and its ending should be mutual, with no bad feeling. This is a relationship which is founded on love, not fear.3

    True.

That's how relationships should work but alas, life rarely works out the way it should.

A nice short that creates a pretty good analogy. I liked it.
