Ed's quest

There was this kid. Well not much of a kid now but he knew this girl. Well, you know the story, boy meets girl, girl meets boy, see each other every day for a couple of weeks, boy and girl fall in love, its like that only the girl is gone. And thats where this story begins. With Edward sitting in his red leather armchair in front of the fire. just staring into it long distant heat...1

He woke up with a start. The grandfather clock said it was eleven but he knew that wasn't the time from the two bright sources outside. 'Bright sources?' he thought. oh dear. They had attacked while he was asleep. Didn't matter to him, he wasn't a soldier. He was just a college student. One trying to get through his A levels without failing miserably. No doubt his precious Louise would be upset about this. That's a thought. Where is she? Why is this writing style so broken? Why-2

...3

Now I take the stage. Basically there was a war with some new weapon or other and to cut a long boring broken story from my friend here, Ed couldn't find Louise so went looking.4

He picked up the essentials, his 72 hour pack, his nice green trousers his uncle had given him a while ago and his watch. Little did he know of their significance. The scene that greeted him as he walked out the door was one of wonder and awe instead of death and fear. All the people in the street were looking at the fountains of light as if mesmerised by them. The usual was happening whenever something 'interesting' was going on, the babies crawling away, the teenagers getting bored with it and so on. He started walking down the road to the bus stop but none of the bus's were running except one 'Lo-Go' bus. I think it would be prudent to take and extract from his journal at this point: -5

'I stepped onto the bus as I asked for a ticket to the city. It was an odd bus, not like those that I was accustomed to. There was a strange air of dirt about it. The driver couldn't have been older than 17 judging from his voice as he said 12.96. I handed over the card, still staring at the bus. The floor was covered in dirt and rubbish including pieces of paper saying 'official' loads...'6

The story goes that he handed over his card got on and thought nothing of it from that but history says something else...7

Author notes

This is the beggining. Should be trying to make more soon but I still need to look at some techniques.
