The road tis a beautiful place. You put on your leathers, your boots, your gloves, get on your Harley, strap on the helmet, crank it up, and off you go. You feel the road underneath the wild turning wheels and the vibrations of the bike that rock your seat, the power of the roaring engine, so close to your crotch. Tis a sensual pleasure that cannot be equaled. You feel as one with the road...driving a motor car tis not the same. 1
My ma...a madwoman with little connection to reality... but still a mother when it came down to it...fretted and fussed at Me when she discovered I owned a motorcycle. She told Me that I was a deadman as far as she twas concerned because those who ride "those death machines" never lived long.2
Funny...as one of My oldest and dearest mates is in his 60's now. He is quite a character, bald headed and with a wise-looking gray beard that he braids in long, beaded strands (long before Cap'n Jack Sparrow made his appearance in our culture), his skin the colour and texture of tanned leather from years of riding with the sun in his face. He got his first Harley when twas 18 years old. Hard to imagine this bloke ever dying...much less on the road. 3
I long for the road...I long for My bike. I wish to take the old rags and the can of polish out and spend hours cleaning and shining up this marvelous machine of Mine. I wish to don My leather gear and climb aboard... feel the power beneath Me once more. I yearn with all of My being to ride off on that road... and just keep going and going until I cannot ride any further.
Author notes
I have been reading "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac...and was inspired to write this.

It's a very good write and makes me want a motorcycle even more than I already do, but it doesn't fall into any of my prompts nor have the prompt within it. Thanks for entering though! Oh, and DW stands for Dora Winifred.
It's from the kiddy show Arthur.

Fantastic and fresh! I have never ridden a motorcycle before but I can imagine what it would be like to be on one, feeling the wind whipping through my hair, my arms wrapped around you
It must be so different from riding in a car - you feel like you're a part of the road, the scenery, and the world itself. Elegantly written as always...this REALLY makes me want to ride with you, sexy
Splendid job

Might have to read that

My grandparents are well into their 60's and 7o's and they ride their motorbike like teenagers XD
It is brilliant. There is so much freedom and love for the road. Especially the road you have yet to travel.
I know when I am older I will be brought back into the life of the bike. Just as I was when I was younger.
And personally I cannot wait to take in all that leather and ride for my life.....
Brilliance.
