Weirdest comp I ever did do.

Ok good folk of SW, it is now time to host my second contest here. And this time I am doing it with the help of the lovely Morning Star! *waits for the applause to die down* So I thought to myself the other day: What sort of a contest -haven't- I seen on SW, and BAM! The answer hit me, the worst story wins! Brilliant! So now onto how it works... 2

Ok, so how this will be judged is, the person with the most: Boring read, worst spelling, punctuation, grammar, plot, character development, pointless swearing, etc. 3

Now, as I'm sure most people wouldn't be kinda a hesitant to have their story named worst on Storywrite, we have a fairly high first prize, 500 points. Second and third will be 150 and 60, respectively. 4

And now, a few rules... yes I know, a contest for the worst story and I have rules? But nevertheless, here we go. 5

1: In order to keep people from writing a load of trash just to enter, we are NOT allowing new writes. It is STRICTLY prewrites ONLY. Now you may think, "Oh, I'll just submit the story, and then enter as a prewrite... well, you're wrong. Any story which submission date is ON/AFTER the 7th of March '08, will be DQed no buts or ifs. 6

2: If you can't hack having your story proclaimed the worst on SW, don't enter. This contest is for the thick skinned, or the people in for a quick 500 shmakaroos. 7

3: Now, I don't like reading erotica, or gay/lesbian stuff, so I could well stop reading before I finish. I don't know how Star is with reading that sort of stuff, but as this is for worst story, I won't ban it, but I honestly don't know how you will fair if you submit any.8

4: Swearing, now like what's listed in rule 3, I don't like it, but as looking for worst story, I won't say no. But, if it's swearing that actually adds something positive to the story, then that will lower your chances of winning, just random swearing for no reason will probably aid you in winning. 9

5: Please no editing stories to make them trash before entering. If you get found out, it means an instant DQ, no questions asked. 10

6: Just 'cause I can, to prove that you've read all the rules, put in your authors notes why you think your story is the worst on SW. If you fail to comply to this rule, you will no be judged. 11

    Good one! I commend you on having the willpower to sit and through complete and utter crap to find the one that stinks the most.

    And very clever of you to make sure no one edited their story or posted a new one.

    All in all, it is indeed an odd and creative contest.

    I remember one contest some months or a year back, where someone said "write me the worst story" - and this friend of mine wrote a story similar to how the contest holder wrote..(mean, I know) and obviously, she got offended... x.x

    But yeah.. *rushes off to that contest*

    P.S. And you know Morning Star!!! What's her new SW name? x.x

    Hmmm... time dig up pieces from my first months on SW...OH gosh its like what through a hall of shame! btw are poems allowed. Cuz I wrote this poem that is filled with real cheesy and forced rhyme schemes. I die a little on the inside each time I read it but I don't even have the heart to delete it!

    LOL, even I couldn't have entered that contest XD But as I was reading the contest, I thought of a guy's story that I read once. AND IT WAS TERRIBLE. IT MADE NO SENSE AT ALL Please, that story could beat that Harry Potter story at worst. the grammar SUCKED. Spelling wasn't an issue, but the words didn't make sense together!

    Both of my friends read it and found it ORRIBLE with a capital O.

    One said only a drunk could have written it

    I think those contestants are too modest, there are bigger foolish writers out there.

      Yeah, I've since found stories which could have completely trashed everyone in that comp. But the people that write those stories think they're good, so won't enter. These ones are the ones with enough honesty to know they've written crap, and wanna try for a gold trophy and some points.
