Light and Dark's Sister: Cahpter 2- Cars Reveal the Truth

Midna looked around with thoughts racing through her head. Where am I? How did I get here? Why is there so much light? She looked around and saw a girl lying on the ground. Midna got closer and looked at her. She had tan skin. Just then, Midna realized where she was. Wait, she thought. All the light, people with tan skin, I must be in the Light World! Well however I got here, I need to get back home. She tried to focus all her power towards making a portal back to the Twilight. Midna closed her eyes and did nothing but concentrait. She opened her eyes, but found no portal. She tried again, but failed. of a sudden, her head started to spin. Whoa, that used up a lot of power, or did it? Maybe I'm just too weak. Midna knew that she could make a portal, she had made one when she was learning how to control her magic, but she never entered it, she just closed it up. The only other option would be that I must be exhausted from the trip here, but how did I get here, thought Midna. She looked at the girl again and saw her flinch. Midna viewed her hands and arms thinking about how different she looked in this new world. She quickly changed her skin color to match that of the girl's so she wouldn't cause a problem. She also changed her eye color to blue-gray and fixed her teeth so she didn't have fangs. Before she could change anything else about her apperance, the girl stirred. She picked herself up and turned around and stopped. "Who are you?" the girl asked. "I...I.. I just woke up and found myself here. I don't know where I am or how I got here."1

"What's your name?"2

"Midna."3

"Wow, that's an unusual name, but I like it, it's pretty. I'm Meda."4

"That's a pretty name too."5

"Thanks. Hey, you have the same hair color as me."6

"No I don't, my hair is orange."7

"Have you ever looked at yourself? It's brownish, blondish, orangish."8

"Really, do you have anything that I could see myself in?'9

"A mirror?"10

"Uh, I guess."11

"Sure, here you go."12

"Would you look at that, it isn't orange. I always saw it orange."13

"Maybe it was the lighting you were looking at it in."14

"Maybe."15

"So you don't know where you are?"16

"No."17

"Where are you from?"18

Midna froze. She didn't know anything about this place, let alone its geography. She said the first name that came to mind. "Jemni."19

"Did you just say, Jemni?"20

"Yah, why?"21

"That's the biggest city ever and you're just going to say it as if it's no big deal? That's where the king lives! That's the best place to go to if you need anything! You live there?"22

"Well, did."23

"Wow, what is it like?"24

"Uh...it's pretty..big and has wonderful food."25

"That's it?"26

"Those are the only things I find interesting about it."27

"Well I for one would love to go there. Hey, can I ask you something?"28

"Okay."29

"Why are you dressed like that?"30

Midna looked down at herself. Ah, I forgot to change my clothes she thought. "Well, I....I was at a place where you, uh, dress up..I forgot what it's called."31

"A costume party?"32

"Yah, that's right, a costume, whatever."33

"Do you need some clothes, I mean NORMAL clothes?"34

"Please."35

Meda reached into her backpack and pulled out a T-shirt and some jeans. "Are these okay?"36

"Wow, these are so, unique. I never saw anything like them."37

"What? The people from Jemni never saw a T-shirt and a pair of jeans?"38

"No."39

"Wow, you guys must be fancy."40

"Very."41

As Midna changed clothes, Meda felt different. She felt like she was more of a whole than before. It was puzzling to her, but just dealt with it. "Hey," Meda said."Did you want to go buy your own pair of clothes?"42

"Really, we can do that?"43

"Yah, I got some money."44

"Thanks so much!"45

As they began to walk, Meda fell. "What's wrong?" Midna cried. Meda didn't respond."Meda! Meda answer me!" Midna tried to calm down. She wasn't sure what was happening, but she thought of what she could do. Maybe I could control her, thought Midna. She stood up, closed her eyes and put out her hand. She bent her fingers in different ways and tensed with every ounce of power coursing through her. That power soon transfered to Meda and Midna could control her. She raised her hand and Meda rose. While Midna was making Meda walk to make sure she was doing someting and not dead, she brought some of her energy to Meda. When Midna was done, she fell on her knees and Meda opened her eyes. "Midna, why are you on your hands and knees?"46

"I..I just lost my breath for a second, but I'll be fine. Why did you fall?"47

"I fell?"48

"Yah, you did."49

"That's strange, because I was walking to a store with you and you asked a ridiculous question."50

"Well, maybe it was magic."51

"Me, have magic? That's funny, that's very funny."52

"Why?"53

"Don't you know that only Royals hae magic? And you say you're from Jemni."54

"Hey, I don't know nothing about magic over here! How should I know everything about this world?"55

"About this world? What, you're not from this world?"56

"Don't be silly, of course I am. I just don't know about everything."57

"If you say so. I guess I could skip school today so we can go shopping."58

"Hey, I always skip school and my turor gets really mad."59

So they walked out of the woods towards town. When they came to a road Midna stopped. "What s it Midna?"60

"What are those?"61

"What are what?"62

"Those things going by on the pathway?"63

"Are you joking? You have to be joking Midna. Tell me you aren't serious."64

"I am."65

"Those are cars! How can you not..."66

"What?"67

"I said that before, You asked that before."68

"No I didn't."69

"Yes you did. I already told you that you asked a ridiculous question."70

"Meda, the key word is ASKED! Meaning past, meaning how can we have already done this, spontaineously g back to the woods and repeat this? If I already asked that question, why would I ask you again?"71

"I, I don't know. This is very confusing?"72

"I told you it's magic."73

"I already told you that only Royals have magic."74

"Are you a Royal?"75

"No! Why would I be homeless if I was a Royal, I'd be in Jemni. If you are telling the truth, then you'd know that the king doesn't have children."76

"No, I don't know any of that. Could you please be curtious and tell me about it so I won't embarass myself anymore."77

"Follow me back to the woods."78

"Okay, now that we're here, tell me about this magic stuff."79

"Our king, King Greig has no children. He does however have a wife, but no one knows who she is, he refuses to tell anyone about her. So for all we know, the queen could be my teacher. Only Royals have magic. They all have unique powers, but people of the same generation have an alike power as well. The king can read minds, which is his own power. If he had sibilings, they'd all share the power of shape-shifting. Since he has no siblimgs, he keeps shape-shifting all to himself. Now that I told you about magic and the like, how does a person who comes form the city the knig lives in not know this?"80

Midna got tired of being asked that, so she just busted out, "Because I'm not from there, I'm not from any of this. I don't know a thing about this world!"81

"So if you're not from Jemni, where are you from?"82

"The Twilight!"83

"The, the Twilight?"84

"Yes, I didn't want to tell anyone because it would cause an uproar. I don't know how I got here. I woke up and boom, here I was in an unfamiliar world. Like your Royals, my Royals-"85

"Also have magic. And only they can go from Twilight to the Light World."86

"How did you know that was what I was going to say?"87

"Believe it or not, I read it in a book. How did I know you were going to say it, I don't know."88

"Anyway, I tried creating aportal, but I was tired out from the jorney I guess and couldn't create one."89

"So you're a Royal from the Twilight?"90

"Yes, that's how come I know magic when I see it, and there's plenty of it in you."91

"Me? Why would you think that?"92

"Because whenever you fell and said you saw somethig that didn't happen, well didn't happen YET, I knew something was odd. I had a hunch that it was magic. Wether or not you believe it, you saw something that has yet to happen. You saw the future Meda."93

"Wait, I have magic? I can see into the future?"94

"Apparently. Me, I can control minds and change an objects apperance, but not its identity."95

"What do you mean?"96

"I can change a shirt into a vest, but I can't change the shirt into a chair."97

"Oh, which one is your unique power, or do you even have that kind of thing in your world?"98

"We do, I just wasn't sure if you did, so that's why I asked earlier. Mind control is MY power, I don't know why I have a second power. I know that I have some magic like warping and energy transfer, things like that. I guess I just thought that apperance change was one of the extras."99

"Maybe you have a sibiling?"100

"No, I don't. I've always been a single child and the only heir to the throne."101

"Wonder why I have magic at all."102

"Maybe you're a royal?"103

"Uh, no way! I already told you why I wasn't a Royal."104

"Just a thought."105

"Well, I can't blame you. This has been one whacky morning. I wonder what else I could do. Let me see."106

Meda thought and focused. All her stray questions were pushed aside and ignored. She didn't feel any sensation, so she thought that she couldn't do anything else. She got out of her "magic state" and looked at Midns whose mouth was opened. "What are you looking at?" Meda asked. All Midna did was point. Meda followed her gaze to where Midna's finger was pointing and dropped her jaw. What was once her purse was now a suitcase with beautiful patterns on it. "Meda," Midna said." You just change that into something else, I can do that as well."107

"What are you impling?"108

"That we could be sisters. Possibly twins."109

"Wha-what? How can I be related to someone from a different world?"110

"I don't know, but two girls with the same magic skill, we both have the same hair color and have the same marking." Midna lifted her shirt just enought to reveal a marking on her stomach."111

"How did you know I had that marking?"112

"I just knew. More evidence."Meda slowly lifted her sleeve to show her marking on her shoulder. She was shocked at the thought of having a twin and the fact that the evidence was true. She finally muttered,"I-I can't believe it. I even felt more like a whole when I saw you. It's true and since you're a Royal, I must be one too. I' m Princess Meda?"113

"Me too, I did feel that way.I'm Princess Midna."114

"Hello sister slash princess."115

"Hi."116

"I have a question."117

"What?"118

"Do all people from the Twilight have tans skin?"119

"Actually, we don't. I changed my skin color to yours so I wouldn't stand out. Watch, let me see my clothes."120

Meda handed Midna her clothes and Midna changed into them.121

"This," said Midna."Is how I really look." Midna tapped her forehead and her skin turned back to normal from that point down. Meda was speechless. All she could breathe was,"You- you look so mystical."122

"That's how the Twilgiht feels. Can I ask you something?"123

"Shoot."124

"What are cars?"
