"You mean you're still a living thing if you cannot die?"3

"Exactly, and you will never die because you were injected with a powerful venom. It's what your mother ran from her entire life and it's what put her in her grave."4

Jayde's eyes began to fill up with tears that she didn't want to cry. She still missed her mother so much. 5

[JOURNAL[I dont remember much of my parents. Only vague memories of my mother rocking me in her arms and telling me to close my eyes and everything will be okay. I remember my dad and I watching horror movies together every Saturday night at 7:30, we both loved those movies with creatures that took over the earth whether it was aliens or a lockness monster from beneath the ground. Twisters and aligators, tornadoes and sea serpents...we shared it all. My life was so calm back then, I was young and so eager to grow up but now I wish I could turn back time and start my life over again, now I wish they were still here. 26

Out of all the other memories of my life that have faded with time, the day my parents died never fails to remind me. I thought I'd never live again, never feel whole again. It was like I lost my best friends, like I lost myself. No more Saturday night horror movies, no more hugs no more love. And as my 16th birthday comes closer and closer I realize I am growing older again, and I wish they were here to share my life with me.]7

This man must've killed her mother. This monster, he was the reason her life was made of pain and suffering. Suddenly she felt like she was betraying her mother by standing in the same room as her killer. What would her mother have done if she knew? What would she have thought of her only daughter?8

"Calm down. No I didn't, she killed herself, she knew what the consequences were. She fell in love with a monster that had the ability to kill her and make her dead forever. Knowing what she knew, she still married a mortal. By doing that she put my family and hers in great danger."11

"No I didn't, we had everything before that rancid human she married. Do you know you have a half sister?"13

All the bones in her legs stiffened like she was made out of metal. Her mother had kept so many secrets from her, now the memory she had of her felt like it belonged to a stranger. Cristine must've had this all planned out. She was only invited to be told about the lies that were hidden from her. Cristine didn't do it just to be friendly. She didn't want to be friends with Jayde, and why would she. Forget Halloween parties, her life was over. 16
