1. What is your full name?1

Lyon. I have a last name, but I can't tell you. It's a matter of national security.2

2. Where and when were you born?3

Where, I don't know. I've been moved around a lot without my knowledge, even since I was a baby. Besides, what fun is staying in one place. I was a baby around 17 years ago, so, you do the math!4

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)5

I never lived with, nor did I know, my parents. From what I was told, they were angels, never so much as a parking ticket. Again, going off of what I'm told, my father was a doctor, my mother a chronic hypochondriac. My mother was a constant worrier, even when my father was there to reassure her that nothing was wrong. And, apparently, nothing was ever wrong. That is, until my mother was hit by a car and killed... Not even my father could reassure my mother she'd live from that, but he tried. He killed himself afterwards.6

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?7

Siblings? Well, that's a tough question considering where I'm from. Biological siblings? No idea whatsoever, but, where we lived, we all considered ourselves family. For the most part, I mean, we cared for each other and none of us were ever romantically involved. I guess that qualifies us to feel like siblings. And, believe me, I definitely felt like an older brother to a lot of my friends, I'm too overprotective, they say.8

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.9

Well, after leaving my wretched first home, I find myself in Rogerstown. The quaint suburban town located just outside of the major city, appropriately named, Rogers City. I live alone in a small apartment in the "shady" part of town. It's hardly shady, though, the sun just doesn't hit my building right. I have a cat, though! Not completely alone. Her name is Smoky. She's a gray cat and very friendly; occasionally she brings me dead rats. What a loyal friend.10

I'm a full time high school student, but, I keep up a steady job as a waiter. It doesn't pay that well, but it keeps me fed and clothed. For the most part, anyways.12

Well, I'm tall and thin, around 5'9, really, but I like to call myself tall. I have jet black hair, naturally, and electric blue eyes. I personally don't think I'm attractive, but my best friend Rae is always saying my pale skin makes me look "hot." I'm scrawny compared to other guys, ridiculously thin and lanky, and I like to dress casually. Usually a t-shirt and jeans suits me, sneakers, too. I've been given the stereotypical "punk" label, but that's not really fitting. I clean up nice, too. Average, overall, I suppose.14

I guess my band members would disagree, though. Or, they would if we still saw each other. I used to be the, well, I guess you could call it singer, in a very under the radar band, but we don't really get to play much anymore.23

I talk a lot, so this is a hard question! I mean, I'm usually pretty quiet until 1) the lights go out, or 2) I'm with those I know and/or love. I guess I say, "Shit!" rather frequently, as well as "Holy fuck, ow!" I'm accident prone was the insinuation, there.25

Right now? Some cash (About three bucks), a pack of cigarettes, my keys, and a crumpled up post it with a note from Rae on it.27

Well, I smoke, I guess that's an annoying habit. I've tried to stop, yeah, whatever, I'm murdering my lungs, blah blah blah. I'm working on it. And, I guess you could say I have a twitch. Only sometimes, though. It's just a casual jerk of my head sometimes and I don't even notice it anymore.29

Part 2: Growing Up30

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?31

Hm. That's a tough question considering my past, but I'll try and keep this brief. It was awful. I lived on a, well, commune, I guess. An experimental one, at that. There were always doctors and scientists poking and prodding us all, and we were always kept in certain groups with numbers and ID codes and, even the extreme, microchip implants and whatnot. I guess I won't go into too much detail here, but you can get what I'm going at.32

16. What is your earliest memory?33

Earliest memory would have to be seeing the doctor's face as he placed the mask on my face prior to my surgery. I was about 4 and before that I remember nothing else. It's like that implantation wiped everything. That's about when I entered the commune.34

Well, we weren't really schooled per se in the commune. I like that term, commune, I guess that name's suiting, but anyway, we weren't really schooled in much. I'm rather intelligent, though, so I fit into my senior year high school classes, which are going rather well.36

I do enjoy school! How many high school students do you know who say that? Even seniors, but really. I love school! There are so many classes and people and it's so overwhelming. I love speech most, I'll be honest, I'm told I'm fairly eloquent. I happen to agree.38

I teach myself things, usually. I don't have any "abilities" nor do I think I have any skills, but I'm pretty clever and I'm usually quick on my feet. I don't encounter much anyway, life's pretty mundane.40

I kept to myself while growing up. I had no one to look up to in that damn hell hole.42

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?43

As I said before, none of them were necessarily my biological family, but with those in my group, I got along well. We were the rebel group and I was one of the leaders. Those other kids looked up to me, and we were always close. We tried to have fun, but we were the smarter of the bunch and it was hard to really have a good time when you know too much. We got along, though.44

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?45

I really never thought about it as a kid. But, today, I'd really love to be a journalist. Wrongs in the world need to be publicized, and I am a harsh bitch.46

These childhood questions are hard. I remember so little, but I think I liked cards.48

Intelligence, and apparently a dangerous sense of mischief. But, remember, most of my childhood and early memories aren't my own, they're only things I've heard.50

Popular? It's hard to be popular when you're kept with the same group of people for as long as you can remember. I guess amongst them I was popular. They all looked up to me for god knows why. I'm probably the worst influence those innocent kids could have had. And, of course, by innocent I mean the most innocent of the rebels.52

I am a virgin, and, I'd like to keep it that way until the right person comes along. I'm a lot more innocent than I make myself out to be, really. Don't tell, though.57

I don't do anything that inspired. I wish I could help the others, but getting myself out of there was hard enough. I never stop feeling guilty about that, and I guess that's why I'm so destructive sometimes. The smoking and the disruptive behavior, meh. My previous life, however, did lead me to be over protective. Especially of Rae and Elliot... I don't know if I could make it without those two.59

Rae and Elliot. They care about me far more than is healthy, and I don't know what I'd do without them.62

Elliot. He's so level headed, down to earth and loyal. Nothing ever gets on his nerves and he can always keep cool. No one dares mess with him. Somehow, I just can't be like him. He always knows how to handle situations and he definitely keeps me cool. Man, I wish I was him sometimes.64

To be honest, I haven't achieved all that much worth noting. I guess my A on that math test.66

Not being able to get my makeshift family out of the hell hole when I got out. They're probably dead by now...68

I refuse to sleep in the total darkness. I refuse a number of things entirely, but I'm sure this one seems the most strange. Toughen up, Lyon, you're a seventeen year old guy! Yeah, whatever. Darkness is engulfing, and, in truth, it terrifies me. I lived a part of my life in metaphorical and, at times, physical darkness. I'd rather not revisit that.109

I'm generally polite and chivalrous, but if you get on my nerves, prepare yourself. I have a dirty mouth, but I keep it controlled and I try and be a good person when I can be. I'm overall friendly, or so I'm told, personally I think I'm a harsh bitch who deserves to live in solitude.115

I feel like Rae has been the answer to an abnormal amount of questions. She's the most important person to me right now, only slightly higher in my mind than Elliot. She reached out to me and she accepted me. She tries so hard to protect me and her attitude does nothing but keep me sane. I love her, but, please, don't tell her that yet.117

Well, Elliot's been the answer for equally as many questions. He's perfect, in my mind. Loyal, protective, strong and level headed. There's nothing he can't deal with and no situation he can't overcome. He keeps me sane as well, and he keeps me under control when I need it most. I don't know what I'd do without him, he's my savior.119

I do have insomnia, and I write. I write things on the wall, I write on my hand, my arm, leg. I have quotes and words and things all over myself. I also have ADD, mildly, so nights are a difficult time for me.175

I wake up around 6, get dressed and brush my teeth, the normal morning things. By about 7:30, I grab the bus to school and spend my day there. I go home for an hour after that, and around 6 in the evening I reluctantly trudge the four blocks to the shitty restaurant where I work. The night goes downhill from there and I get home late, and lose track of time. When you get very little sleep, the time in the night is kind of obsolete. I love when my routine is interrupted, it adds spice. Mine often is interrupted, too. Rae's spontaneous, and a big part of my social life.185

I don't do heroic or strange things, really. The only thing that I do that's noticeable is defend my friends. No one talks shit about them, no one. I'm fiercely loyal and I have to protect those close to me. My reasons are real and public; I hate disrespect.202
