Creepstone Manor

"Creepstone Manor you say? Never heard of it." I could tell by the man's tone he was lying. Everyone in this small town had heard of Creepstone Manor. Not ten years ago, Lord Creepstone had died mysteriously. The police couldn't find anything, but ever since, no-one could stand to stay in that house for more than a month. Just last week, a family moved in and already they’ve decided to leave. They call me weird, they call me unearthly, but i like to think of myself as mystic, that’s why I go through these things. I like the unnatural, the paranormal, plus I have an uncanny sense for detective work, if I do say so myself. What's my name I here you ask, how about you call me Shadow. Why I’ll tell if you buy me a drink sometime. Now, back to the case. Creepstone Manor, the oldest and easily grandest building in Dover, overlooking the ocean on the cliff, many would say the traditional setting for this kind of thing, but they’ve never really dealt with the paranormal. Stereotypes, I hate them, all creepy looking buildings have ghosts or ghouls in them, the truth is, most of my work happens in the well kept, friendly looking houses, that’s how they get you. They lure you in and then after about a week of living there, strange things start to happen. Curtains moving when the windows are locked, doors opening and closing, and that’s just the beginning. But that can wait till later, now we investigate.

This is a story my friend wrote but he didnt believe me when I said it was a good start... It'd be great if I could have some other people who agree so I can show him. :)

I agree with you 100%. This can be a great beginning to a mystery/suspense/horror, kind of story. Tell your friend to keep up the good work!
