Don't Answer The Door - Ch. 25

Alex woke up suddenly. He was afraid he'd wake up Eva, who had fallen asleep in his arms. He looked around the walls for a clock, and he found a small one, but it was too far and too small to read.2

Alex slowly got out of bed and made sure Eva was covered. He didn't want her to catch a cold. He walked closer to the clock and checked the time.3

"Seven - Eighteen." He whispered to himself.4

Alex decided not to look for his shirt because it was too dark in the room, and more than likely, he'd wake up Eva.5

He walked towards the door and slowly opened it.6

"Crap!" He whispered hoarsely.7

The door was creaking. He slid out slowly and kept the door slightly ajar, afraid that any more noise would wake up Eva, and Nina as well. Alex walked out of the bedroom and into the main room.8

To his surprise, Nina was already awake. She was sitting on the he couch watching television. Alex noticed Nina didn't have her shirt on, and her dark red bra was revealing. Alex tried his hardest to not be turned on by Nina's large breasts that were in perfect view.9

Alex cleared his throat with a cough. "Nina?" He said, just to say something.10

Nina turned around quickly, and her eyes bulged out when she saw Alex standing their with only his shorts. After her surprise, she was shocked to realise that Alex could see her breasts. She took the blanket and quickly covered up.11

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you!" Alex said, his cheeks turning bright red.12

"Uh, Uhm, It's okay. No problem." Nina said, forcing a smile onto her naturally tanned face.13

Nina stared at Alex's stomach.14

"Wow..." She said, then quickly clasping her hand over her mouth. She hadn't meant to say that out loud.15

Alex was confused, but when he saw Nina's eyes staring at his stomach, he realized she was staring at his abs.16

"You like it, 'eh?" Alex asked, can't helping the fact it sounded a bit flirty.17

Alex slowly walked towards Nina, towards the couch and sat down. He looked over at her and he saw her legs. They were so smooth and long. He had to force his hand to stay in place, and not do anything stupid.18

Nina noticed Alex's hesitant movement. She recognized the right time and made her move, cautiously. She placed her hand on his thigh, and it caught him by surprise. Alex placed his hand on her shoulder and without thinking, he kissed Nina on the lips. Nina got out of the lip lock and stared into Alex's eyes. Her eyes showed no emotion, but then they turned to express sadness.19

"Eva..." Nina said, feeling awful.20

"What? Alex... What are you doing..." Eva said, hurt expressed in her tone of voice.21

Alex turned his head quickly and saw Eva standing by the bedroom door. She was leaning against it, and had her hand on her head, as if she was about to faint. Tears were forming in her eyes, and they began to quickly stream down her pale face. 22

"I can't believe you!" She said, in a tone worse than screaming, in a soft whisper.23

Alex wanted her to yell at him, he wanted her to let it all out on him, because he deserved it. She turned around quickly and walked into the bedroom, slamming the door. Alex stood up, and quickly ran after her. 24

Nina sat there in shock, unaware of what just happened for it all happened to fast. She felt so horrible inside, and yet, she was pleased in a way. She blinked away signs of tears and stood up. Nina began to search for her shirt, which was on the floor behind the couch. 25

"Oh, why'd I take it off in the first place?" She yelled at herself, picking it up. 26

She remembered last night, how she heard Eva and Alex making love. She was sleeping right outside their bedroom, so she could hear every single one of their moans. It was becoming impossible for her to go to bed, and she kept turning around, but there's no room on the couch which began to frustrate her more. The heat was beginning to get to her, from moving around a lot, and she began to sweat. Nina ended up taking her shirt off and throwing it to the floor. 27

Nina slipped into her shirt quickly and slowly walked to the bathroom. She stared at herself in the mirror, and she didn't recognize herself. Nina turned on the faucet to the cold water, and began to splash some all over her face and hair. She pulled back her hair and let out a huge sigh filled with frustration.28

"Ugh, Why'd I have to let them stay." She asked herself, wishing she could turn back time.29

Nina new the answer, she had an instant attraction to Alex, and wanted to spend more time with him, without having him cheat on Eva. She didn't want to ruin things between them, she just wanted to make friends. No one had accepted her at any school, she was always the loner. She thought that if she were to be nice to them, they'd want to be her friends. She sighed again with frustration and anger and slammed the bathroom door shut. 30

She sat on the toilet seat and began to cry, her hands covering her face as she sobbed. She stopped hearing Eva screaming at Alex, and wondered if they made up. She hoped they had, but deep down she wishes they hadn't, and for that, she began to cry even more. 31

There was a knock on the bathroom door. Nina didn't reply, and tried to muffle her sobs and wipe away her tears quickly. 32

"Nina? You in there? Are you okay?" Came Alex's voice from behind the door.33

Nina was ashamed to even answer him, so she stayed quiet. She didn't want to make a scene so she tried fixing herself up quickly, and walked out of the bathroom. Eva was sitting on the couch, her hand in Alex's.34

"I'm so sorry Eva. I really didn't mean for any of this to happen, please forgive me." She said, looking down at the floor, ashamed.35

For a while there was no reply, but when Nina looked up, she saw Eva and there was a smile on her face.36

"It's okay. I mean, who can help it? He is a hotty." Eva said, trying to make a joke, but nobody laughed.37

The air in the backroom was very gloomy, no sound was coming from the three of them. They all looked at the television as a breaking news alert came on. A woman with gray hair and a suit that matched began speaking.38

"Authorities believe that Cage struck again. A body was found in the woods just miles from here. The body was in a black car that belonged to a young man named Alex. Police are not releasing his last name, but want to speak to him. He should report to the police station as soon as possible. More details of this murder later during our eleven PM news." She said, and then the TV show that was on returned. 39

Alex stared at the TV screen and couldn't look away. He felt both Eva's and Nina's eyes on him. He knew Eva understood, but his neck began to feel hot. He turned red as he saw Nina's expression.40

"Is that your car?.." She asked, hesitantly. 41

"Was she talking about you?!" She asked loudly. 42

"What the hell are you doing with a dead body in your car?!" She screamed.43

Alex stood up and put his finger over his mouth, telling Nina to keep her voice down. She refused and he pounced on her, his hand over her mouth so she wouldn't scream.44

"I didn't do it. Didn't you hear they said Cage struck again damn-it!" Alex said, getting angry.45

Nina stopped struggling, and her eyes shifted to Eva. 46

"He was my dad. Well, no he wasn't. It's a long story Nina." Eva said quietly, wrapping her arms around herself as tears welled in her eyes.47

Alex got up off of Nina and helped her stand up. She brushed away dust off of her shorts and looked at the both of them. 48

"You've got a lot of explaining to do to the police." Nina said to Alex. 49

"Yeah. I know." He replied glumly. 50

They all grew silent again. The television show ended and there was a commercial on. The background song was singing "Be happy". Nina walked to the TV and turned it off. She sighed and looked at the room, realizing it was such a mess. She didn't know what to do or say at the moment, but suddenly, she didn't have to say or do anything at all. 51

"What's that?!" Eva screamed, terror filling her heart.52

Nina heard three men screaming very loudly in the front, and then a gun shot. 53

"Oh no!" Nina screamed, as she dropped to the ground. 54
