Daylight breaks,
And another day passes
When I realize with the utmost
Disenchantment,
That it’s one step closer to life,
One step closer to broken treasure,
One step closer to another mistake
Years have passed, and how far I’ve come
Isn’t as important anymore, as what I plan to do now
And how I choose to make this start
Before it ends
Somehow everything I’ve done in the past
Doesn’t seem to make this any better
Because it’s a mistake, just another one in my bitter life
I never knew love could tear me up inside so much
Eating me alive, ironic actually
Someday, another image of myself will born
And I wonder how, how it came to be
And I wonder if, if I can ever be
Someone loved, someone who can love
Someone who can bring love into this world
And keep it, safe and fit from harm
How could I...?
And I pray and pray that you won’t be like me,
And that sometime in the future
We can look back and see all the cracks,
And broken shards,
And drops of blood
And scowls and frowns
And each and every mistake
And one day, actually smile about it
Cause, we fail to see that although roses have thorns
They’re still beautiful, like you will be.
