Introduce A Little Anarchy {Chapter 3}

After I was released from the hospital, I went in Bruce’s Lamborghini and then he drove off. He told me that he was going to take me to a restaurant rather than at his house. I kindly nodded my head at him. I wondered if he was going to take me to any restaurant or some restaurant that he owned. Probably one that he owned. 1

Throughout the entire ride to the mysterious restaurant I was being taken to, I looked out the window as I took the time to think. My father…he is looking for me, having his men out in the city (probably day and night) searching for me until they find me. Then, they’ll bring me back to him and I have no idea of what he’ll do to me once that happens. I have no idea of why he wants me back. Maybe he is angry that Gotham’s Dark Knight came to my rescue the other night ago. My father hates Batman because he can bust him and he has already shown the city his true colors. If that is why my father is after me then I don’t really know what the harm was. Batman came to save me from getting hurt and saved me from that rapist even though I feel like I didn’t deserve for him to save me. 2

And then there’s the Joker…3

How the hell the Joker did in to all of this? Out of everything, I didn’t understand why my father told the Joker about me and then had him come find me. Why would my father do that? He had always said it himself that the Joker was nothing but a two-bit wackjob and a freak who wears makeup. Unless, of course, there’s more to it than just that. Maybe he wanted the Joker to take me or something like that. But why? Why would the Joker want someone like me? But the again, sometimes he never made sense…but he always seemed to make sense to me. I remember meeting him about two months ago at one of my father’s “meetings”. He had startled me when I first saw him and sort of scared me but after that, I felt different about him. It was because of the way he stared at me and walked past me. I had never been afraid of him before. I was just afraid of what he might do to me. 4

“Alright Angie, we’re here.” Bruce’s voice shook me quickly out of my thoughts. 5

Startled, I shook and looked over to him after recollecting myself. Lately, he seemed to be doing this to me. I just gave him a smile before I decided to speak up. 6

“This is the place? It looks…pretty.” I said. 7

“You’ll love it here, trust me.” He smiled. I noticed how whenever he smiled, he looked charming. He always seemed to look charming and a bit cute. 8

“Are you only saying that because you own this place?” I questioned him with a raised eyebrow. 9

He just gave me a quick look. “Trust me, you’ll love it. This place has the best food in Gotham.” He seemed to laugh a bit. I smiled again. “Oh and before I forget, Harvey Dent will be joining us. I told him about you before and he’s looking forward to meet you. Is that alright, Angie?” 10

I nodded my head. “Yes it’s alright.” 11

{Third person point of View}12

The Joker sat in the driver’s seat of the empty van parked on the curb, just outside a fancy restaurant. It was probably one that Bruce Wayne owned. He just knew it be cause Bruce just about seemed to own almost a lot of things in this damn city. 13

He sat there, tapping the steering wheel while he was in his regular clothes. The nurses uniform was just for disguise and he really hated wearing that outfit but it was the only way for him to be able to walk around in that hospital without being noticed completely. So now, he sat there bored and had no idea as to why he was sitting outside some fancy restaurant that didn’t even seem appealing to him. He liked to pretend to make the other cars before him blow up. At least blowing up vehicles didn’t sound so boring. Maybe he would have even taken a broken pool stick and whirled it around saying, “Hey look! Look at me! I’m Harry Potter! He heh!” and pretend to blow up the cars. 14

He shifted in his sit and suddenly, something appealing came to his attention at the front door of Brucey’s little restaurant. There was Angie Maroni walking behind Bruce Wayne himself as they walked over to the front door. Curiosity took over him as he practically leaned over the seat onto the passenger’s side and looked at Angie.15

“Where are you going, huh? Where are you going?” He said to himself as he continued to peer out the window. He knew where she was going. 16

Angie and Bruce entered the restaurant. He had to admit that she did look rather beautiful and not because of the short, red dress she wore. There was much more to her than that. He was never that pathetic. Only the low lives and scum would think like that. He was never like that. He was ahead of the curve. He licked at his lips and smacked them together. 17

“Soon, my dear,” He stated to no one at all. “We’ll meet once again.”18

{Back to Angie’s Point of View}19

By the time Bruce and I got to our table, there was already someone sitting there, waiting for us. He had blonde hair, blue eyes, and wore a suit. I recognized him the instant I laid my eyes on him. He was Harvey Dent. 20

“I hope you don’t mind but I asked Harvey Dent to join us.” Bruce said as the two of us sat down at the table. Harvey looked over to me and I gave him a small smile. He held out his hand and without thinking, I shook his hand. 21

“You must be Angie, the girl that Bruce has been talking about since he found you. He told me that you woke up not too long ago and I insisted on coming to meet you.” Harvey smiled with a charming look. 22

Out of the corner of my eye, I nearly blushed at Bruce. Had he talked about me while I was unconscious and while I had woken up earlier today? I felt a bit flattered. I’ve never had that happen before and yet, it felt good to have it happen. I wondered what he said about me… 23

“It’s nice to meet you, Harvey. I’m a bit of a supporter of you…” I blushed, staring into his eyes. He sure did have nice eyes. They sort of looked kind of….dreamy. But that was probably because I had a small crush on him. 24

“And it’s nice to meet you, Angie. I’m sorry for what happened to you the other day and for when you got that scar,” He replied, point to the scar on my neck.25

I froze in place. How did he know how I got the scar? The only person I ever told was Bruce. That’s when it hit me that Bruce must have told Harvey about it when he told him all about him. 26

“Oh that’s okay.” I quickly said, wanting to change the subject. “It doesn’t even hurt anymore. I’m used to it. The only thing that hurts me is my back a little, that’s all.” 27

Harvey frowned. “That’s not something you should be used to. You should have told someone when it first happened. Maybe then, your father could have-28

“It wouldn’t have done anything that much. He would have had people come for me. It would’ve only caused me more trouble than I was already in. It doesn’t matter.” I cut him off. 29

“No matter what you did, you didn’t deserve to have him nearly kill you.” He firmly said. 30

I nodded my head. “I know.” I quickly changed the subject about the incident. “What’s going to happen to my father since you have him on trial?” 31

“I don’t have much to convict him on but I’ve been thinking and maybe if you helped, then I might have enough.” He answered. 32

I shook my head. “I don’t know if I should help put him away. I know he hates me and all but he’s a powerful man and he knows people who could come after me. He knows the Joker and I have a feeling that he may be after me.” It was true. The Joker did want me for some reason. I had some fear in fear my voice when I spoke. 33

Bruce placed a hand on my shoulder gently. “You’ll be staying with me, remember? It’s the safest place in Gotham. Even safer than the police station. He won’t be able to get to you, I promise.” 34

“I guess so but he has his ways. I won’t be able to hide forever.” I sighed. 35

After we ate lunch, Bruce and I got back in the car. Once we were inside the car and were about to drive off, I asked Bruce, 36

“Do you think that I could stop at my house and get my things?” 37

“I don’t know if it’s such a good idea to take you there.” He answered. 38

“I promise I’ll be only five minutes. I don’t have much. I just hate staying in this dress. I want something clean and nicer to wear.” I pleased with him. Right before he drove off, he finally agreed to take me to my house so I could get my things. 39

{Third Person Point of View}40

The Joker had his van running and in full speed as soon as Bruce’s car suddenly drove off. As he was following their car, he had a small idea of where he was taking her. Back to her house. It was a pretty obvious thing to figure out because she would have to eventually go back to her place to get her clothes. And now was the perfect time for her to go back there. It was also the perfect time for him to swing by at her house to confront her once again and have some “fun”….41

This is enthralling! The way you continued the story with Angie feeling nervous was perfect, especially when she said "I can't hide forever" to Bruce - it just gave me the sense that she will never be safe from the Joker, and after the incident when he cut her face she must still be traumatized. You also portrayed Angie's crush on Harvey very realistically, which was nice the suspense keeps piling up! I can't wait to see what the Joker is going to do to poor Angie...
    Terrific job, as usual.

She may be safe from the Joker but I sure don't want to be. I'd rather be right where he can get me. Thanks for the compliment.

Oh Harley you took my breath away all over again! I love how Bruce and Angie are now entering the restaurant while Joker is watching them, plotting; I can just see him hunched over at the wheel in that shadowy car all sinister *shudders* so much powerful imagery in this scene. I'm seriously at the edge of my seat right now waiting for the next chapter - awesome job! This story inspired me to write the chapter 2 of my Gotham Love piece can't wait to start chapter 4 when Joker meets Ivy for the first time hehe.
