Hidden in the shadows

There's always going to be a moment where you feel you are being watched. Whether you are alone or not, whether you are home or not, whether you are surrounded by bright and beautiful lights, or silent yet consoling darkness. The fact remains that you are never completely safe. You are always going to be looking over your shoulder, always in wonder of who lurks among the shadows, waiting until your most vunerable moment to grab you.1

Shadows are kind of funny that way. They keep your attacker hidden, camoflauged in the darkness, almost as if they are out to get you as well. 2

Your attack waits, hoping that you would think you were forgotten. You weren't, you were just being allotted the proper time to be consumed by paranoia.3

Paranoia is a very beautiful thing. It has so many effects on some, and hardly any on others. Oh but the damage that it can do! It can drive people to insanity, murder or suicide.4

I see it now, you in your room, thinking that you are alone, writing in your diary and feeling a sense of security because your Parents are in the next room. 5

They tell you that they will always be around to protect you. They tell you that you are safe while they are around.6

That's where they are fatally wrong.7

They can never be one hundered percent sure that they can keep you safe. 8

It's more like they are gambling on the odds and getting luck so far.9

As if they are playing craps and are doing well, concidering you're still alive.10

Soon enough though, the dice are going to go the wrong way, and your life will be gone.11

Gambling is quite an ugly thing. 12

Especially when your life is the thing up for bet.13

So far, they had won you the right to live for the past 17 years. That's pretty good. The dealer must have cut them some slack.14

Unfortunatly, no one gets away with it forever.15

They are going to lose eventually. 16

Because the person in the shadows is someone you trusted.19
