This is stunning. I like the effect of starting with the moon, the image of moonlight you create lingers through the entire poem. You have definately captured something about the silence and peacefulness of Samhain in your poem. Well done this is beautiful from start to finish.

This was such a beautiful poem! It totally encompassed what a Wiccan should feel for Samhain, and this was also very well written.
You timed all the lines well, and allowed description to mix with emotion.
A really great poem, well done!

Thank you so much. It just flowed right out of e. I just remember what it was like during my first Samhain as the real me.

I like this...very good. I hope you do well in the contest that you have entered this in. My favourite part:
Our song is for the dead,
For the living even if friend or foe.
We dance as we leave out candles
To guide our ancestors home.
