Samhain... (Poem)

The moon,1

Bright and beautiful.2

A blazing glory of our life.3

Mothers, fathers,4

Brothers and Sister.5

Friends and foes stand together.6

Taking hands we smile to the sky,7

Thanking the God and Goddess 8

For another good year blessed on us.9

And we pray for another good year.10

Hand in hand we sing together,11

Walking in a circle with our hands held.12

Our song is for the dead,13

For the living even if friend or foe.14

We dance as we leave out candles 15

To guide our ancestors home.16

To Samhain,17

A night we all remember18

To the people we live with in this world.19

To the Goddess and our God…20

This is stunning. I like the effect of starting with the moon, the image of moonlight you create lingers through the entire poem. You have definately captured something about the silence and peacefulness of Samhain in your poem. Well done this is beautiful from start to finish.

This was such a beautiful poem! It totally encompassed what a Wiccan should feel for Samhain, and this was also very well written.

You timed all the lines well, and allowed description to mix with emotion.

A really great poem, well done!
