Like It's Never Been Before

Suddenly the sun shines brighter,
its happiness reflected in the depths of my smile,
Suddenly the crisp cold air doesn’t grow goose bumps,
there’s a new warmth within me,
it spreads and embraces me as I sleep at night.1

Suddenly the moon luminates the whole sky,
spreading its wings to new horizons.
Suddenly the darkness is no longer dark and
everything that was hidden before has shown itself,
and all the emotions that penned me as normal have turned me insane2

Suddenly those green eyes I’d stare into all the time
will see right into the depths of my heart that I’d always keep hidden
Suddenly that simple smile I kept admiring all the time
will bring forth a smile that I’d kept hidden all these years
Suddenly the gentle gestures and the sneaky stares
are all that I think about and consume most of my time3

Everything’s different
and nothing’s changed
My world revolves around that smile
Hands intertwined
and
eyes locked into a passionate stare
Unbroken,
The rest of the world forgotten

I haven't had any time.

 

Any way, I wrote this poem for my poetry class.

Oh, and I don't quite expect any feedback on this because I know I haven't been around to comment on all of my friends' work, so it would be unfair if you commented on mine and I didn't comment on yours.

    Very impressive!

    I know there isn't much rhyme in this poem, but it's great otherwise. Flow and word use - very cool! I'd give you an A+ if I was your teacher!
