The Moonlight Warriors: Ch 5: The Moonlight Warriors in action

A week later they had a chance to become the Moonlight Warriors. Akira came racing back from the edge of the forest, yelling about a Sapis' vanguard which had camped near the forest, ready to join the main camp on the morrow.1

Elphina and Saccabera quickly grabbed the bows and a quiver-full of arrows, and when everyone was ready, they set off, cutting directly tthrough the forest, so that it was only a matter of minutes until they reached the camped Sapis'. Elphina and Saccabera had an easy time shooting the guards. When they were dead, Elphina picked out a special arrow, and, setting it on fire, shot it perfectly into a tent in the middle of the camp. Then, they all retreated up seperate trees to watch the drama unfold. The wind pushed the fire towards the horses. The smell of smoke started to worry the horses, and they started pulling at their tethers, neighing loudly and rolling their eyes. Just as Elphina was about to start shooting the tethers to nfree the horses, some men woke up. The pushed their heads out of their tents, rubbing bleary eyes. They saw the fire and hurredly got upp fully. One of the men had the sense to freee the horses, who bolted straight into the forest. The men milled around in comfusion until one of the men took charge, ordering the men to start putting out the fire. Elphina quickly shot him in the back. He slowly spirraled around, falling gracefully into the burning tent. Jasmie and Akira had shinnied down their trees, and went to round up the horses. Elphina and Saccabera started shooting at will, killing anyone who made a silhouette of themselves against the burning tent. After what seemed like hours, the men had finally got the fire under control, and was organising a search party to try to find where the archers had been standing. Elphina and Saccabera continued shooting everyone, but their aim was slowly failing as darkness once again claimed the night. Luna and Saccabera silently climbed down their trees and drew their blades, moonlight glinting off their silvery edge. Some of the men noticed the glinting of their blades and, having pointing it out to the others, they all started all moving over there. Elphina shot as many as she could, but her aim was impaired as they reached the treeline. Suddenly, the Warhorses came charging throught the trees, Akira riding the lead horse. The Warhorses, trained to be ruthless, kicked and bit without mercy, leaving none alive. When all the Sapis' were very definatly dead, Elphina climbed down the tree, trying not to fall to much as she fought her bone-weary limbs. When she reached the floor, Luna and Saccabera were already looting the campsite. Jamie and Akira were rubbing down the Warhorses. Elphina started helping pile everything from the site into one big pile. When Akira and Jamie were finsihed with the Warhorses, they quickly tethered them again, using ropes salvaged from one of the tents, and started helping move the bopdies. When everything was piled into one big pile, the poured brandy from the captain's tent over it, and set fire to it. Then, they untethered the horses and led them away, back to their cave.
