Kindred Spirits

In a forest grove I await my heart1

I feel she is approaching slowly2

Drinking in the aromas of the woods3

Allowing her senses to heighten4

Releasing her soul from a confining shell5

Melding and changing into our true form6

I lift my head up and sing to our mother7

Shining brightly with in the nights sky8

Bathing us in the love for her children9

My mate answers with her tender voice10

Complementing with enchanting verses11

She enters my grove standing proud12

Her pelt shining dark and silky smooth13

She looks at me with glowing emerald eyes14

A cheeky and questioning glance of mischief15

Causing me to give up my Elvin form16

Slipping into my true nature smoothly17

We are slightly taller then our earthly brethren18

Broader in muscle and darker than a moonless night19

My eyes glow sapphire blue with my love for her20

Without a thought she turns and stretches into a run21

Racing gracefully weaving throughout the dense foliage22

Not far behind I follow her lead tracing her steps23

Enjoying the hunt and our passionate game24

Leaping into the air I soar over and land in front of her25

Surprising her into a sudden slide before bounding away26

Laughing silently leading her on a new path27

To a secret place only our hearts know exist28

A cascading waterfall marks the entrance29

Surrounded in glowing rose bushes and crystal walls30

Hidden by a rainbow of colorful sparkling diamonds31

Guarded by ancient statues of our ancestors32

As we approach they part and bow in welcome33

Allowing us to pass with their silent blessings34

Into a immense cavern through a misty doorway35

We slowly weave our way changing gracefully36

Where once wolves stood now dragons remain37

We are one with the magic that flows in our veins38

Shifters from a time long forgotten we the last39

Always held by our bond to each other of true love40

As we pass into another reality we smile41

Knowing we will always return to mother earth42

Drawn by a kindred bond we have for our ancestors.43

Author notes

A story poem I wrote this morning, though I am not sure many will understand the picture I weave, it is just something I felt I had to write....I know nothing of love so this was somewhat hard to create.
I have been feeling mixed up of late, and my words sometimes show my thoughts, so I will leave it up to you to figure out what it is I write about.

Wow that's an eye catcher. I love how very enticing of an opening you start this off with and then cause it to flow into a beautiful picture of passion. ~crinna~

    Exquisite

What can I add that hasn't already been stated... it's stunning! The beauty of love has come to life in this write. U certainly have a very vivid way of writing and conveying ur ideas thru absolutely wonderful writing. No words can adequately describe this poem. No words I can state will do it any justice... U have written a masterpiece of love!!! This is what poetry should be... a tender and delicate balance of words used to describe something so wonderful as love. Thanks so much for sharing!

oh its so beautiful, a mixutre between sweet fantasy and tortured reality... so beautful in the ways that you go about "mother earth" in enchanted forest.. I'm not sure of what picture you were trying too paint, but what I see, is not uncovered, and beautifully woven...

    Beautiful

This is absolutely beautiful. I think even thats an understatement, I don't know what to say. Its so different and yet so breathtaking, the imagery is perfect and its just... well... all of it is perfect... and gorgeous... and outstanding... and wonderful... wow. It has got to be one of my favourites, not just of yours, but of the ones I have read since I turned to poetry. Lovely.

    Magical!

It's nearly impossible to believe that the man that wrote this enchanting story "knows nothing of love." I can only imagine, then, the well spring that this magical work was born from. Raz, I'm totally left speechless by this hauntingly beautiful write! I'm not sure where to begin, or the right words to tell you how very beautiful this was. The very word "beautiful" doesn't do this piece justice! Your imagery here; all the remarkable descriptions you gave painted the most beautiful picture! I felt I was there from the very first line, to the very last, and very much NOT wanting this to come to an end! And the emotion was deep, and rich; "In a forest grove I await my heart." There was something about that line that stopped me cold; I couldn't go onto the next line for a moment. I was compeltely mesmerized by that one line! And then, when I did move to that next one, I knew somehow that this wasn't going to be just another poem, or story. This one is special! And that "feeling" was proved out then throughout the entirety of the work, for that same strong, undeniable emotion of a deep, and abiding love that this character had for his mate permeated the entire body of the write! And the word pictures you painted; your choice of words! "Surrounded in glowing rose bushes, and crystal walls Hidden by a rainbow of colorful sparkling diamonds." (Oh, my!!!) "Guarded by ancient statues of our ancestors As we approach they part and bow in welcome
Allowing us to pass with their silent blessings" (That entire stanza was probably the most magical thing I've ever read, anywhere!!!) And then those very last four lines.....you end this piece reiterating that same, deep emotion, and bond of the characters, that you began with. You, my friend, are an amazing, and vastly talented writer! Please accept my apologies for not being able to truly tell you how this affected me. (I've been stumbling around here, really trying to put what I experienced as I read, and re-read this, but I just don't have the words!) Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! You are most deserving of any, and all applauds you receive for this outstanding write!
