To: The Little Engine That Could

If I gave you a rose for all your pain and strife1

You'd have enough roses to last all your life2

And if I took one away for each happy time3

You'd be without roses4

But, that's just fine5

Overall, you could say that you've had a good life6

Being a sister, daughter, mother, and a good wife7

And, even though your face shows that you had it rough8

Your heart always showed you were there when the goin' got though9

And I admit that I didn't appreciate you then10

But I love you now as I look to back when11

I used to sit on the floor between your legs12

And you'd brush my hair13

Those were the days14

And, I'll never forget you so don't think I ever would15

You truly are the little engine that could....

Beautiful!! I know she has to love it. I love the memory of sitting in front of her while she brushed your hair, I always loved that and still love for someone else to brush my hair.
