Our tree planted its roots in rich, firm soil, which nourishes every leaf. Every branch is strong and sturdy, every leaf is luscious and green. Our tree is beautiful, structured, and picturesque. The winds may come. The storm may threaten our strength, and our stability. Our tree may fall to the ground. But it digs into the rich soil beneath. It always manages to find just enough water make each twisted leaf breathe again. Slowly, we grow back up.1
All except for one leaf.2
One leaf is shriveled and dying. It recieves no nourishment from the rest of the tree. While they grow back up, this leaf stays fallen on the ground. They have forgotten it, pushed it into oblivion so they can forget of its imperfect existance.3
It is a rumpled red in a forest of luscious green.4
No one sees this leaf. It is pushed aside, forgotten, hidden from view. Those who see the tree see beauty.5
But they do not see this leaf.6
The wind blows, a powerful gust. Everyone holds on, but that leaf lets go. It falls, gently, but not beautifuly, for how could such a fall be beautiful? The wind tosses it playfully and then slams it onto the cold, hard ground.7
None of the other leaves notice their fallen brother.8
Yet the fallen leaf, the one everyone's forgotten, is where the true strength in the tree shines through.9
Author notes
You don't need to tell me it's bad. I've only written once since last May. I'm attempting to overcome my writers block, bear with me, people.
Any suggustions?

I liked this. The fallen leaf and everything. I think I get it! Leaves turn colour and dry up because that's where the tree stores waste, like calcium oxalate. And then they fall off so that the tree gets rid of the waste. That's what keeps the tree healthy!
Maybe this is not what you were geting at but I'm really good at biology, so... yeah. lol

sure. when leaf falls off, it is bad for the leaf but good for the tree as a whole. that leaf holds waste and when it leaves the tree it happy, but the leaf is say. FYI, this is a metaphor for a family tree.
thanks for reading.
