Pokemon

(haha, I'm sailor Mercury)1

Gosh, I had so many obsessions. There was Disney, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and so many other things. But Pokemon was always the biggest.2

I have been obsessive about Pokemon for years. When I was a kid, I religiously watched the show every Saturday morning at nine. I refused to EVER miss an episode. I just had to see Ash go on another adventure, win another battle, or capture another Pokemon. I just loved the show.3

I don't really know what drew me in, but whatever it was, it kept me there. I loved all the pokemon, not just because they were cute, but because they had their own unique personalities. I collected as many of the games as I could. I still have most of them somewhere (Red, Blue, Yellow, Sapphire, Krystal, Fire Red, Silver, and Gold). I even used to have a Pikachu doll.4

Well, the obsession hasn't exactly worn off. I still watch the show every Saturday morning. I still love Pikachu. Pikachu kicks ass! And I still love all those other characters on there. While a hardcore Misty fan, I don't mind Dawn. Her Bunneary is just the cutest thing ever!5

I love everything about that series or franchise or whatever you want to call it. I even want to get a DS just so I can get Pokemon Diamond or Pearl.

    I was never really able to get into pokemon, but I did love the Sailor Moon! Boy this takes me back! Thanks for sharing!

    Hehe niiiice. :] Ninetails was my favorite, but Pikachu was a close second.

    Oh gosh, I remember when I was obsessed with pokemon. It was all about the pikachu man. I had the first 200 pokemon memorized by sight and name. While I grew detached from pokemon, I admit that I love when I catch it on by chance. Its fun to relive those memories. (Actually I still have some great condition pokemon comics. Like the original ones or something. O.o I wonder how much those are worth.) But I digress, pokemon was definitely an obsession for me as well.

      Who didn't love pokemon at one time or another? It was such an awesome show. Which was your favorite? I loved ninetails and vulpix.

        I loved pichu, and adored plusle and minun when they were added. Those mini pikachus were so adorable. Oh speaking of pikachu, Heroes made a reference to that on the episode I just watched. I thought it was hilarious.

          lol. That is so awesome! So was pikachu your season 1 favorite?

          I can't even remember my other season favorites, but I do love chimchar in the current season. And bunneary. So far no adorable puppy like pokemon.

    Haha man I remember when Pokemon was all the rage. It's crazy to think that it's still pretty popular. I never got into it myself but my cousins did. This was a good write. Showed that your childhood has followed you into your teenage years. But that's not always a bad thing. Childhood memories can be the best things we ever come upon and picking up where we left off or continuing on is like feeding old nostalgia. Good read!
