"Grow up!"
"Quit being a baby!"
"That's so childish."
"Act your age."1
There are so many ways to say the same thing. We're forced to be older then we feel. We must be adults in today's society. 2
I 'grew up' so many years ago and put the childish dreams behind me. I studied hard and worked even harder. I stopped swinging on the swings and simply sit with the other adults watching the children in their joy. I long to feel that air on my face, as I pump my legs harder just to see how high I could fly.3
I wake up each morning and get ready for work. I head to work and fight my way through the day hoping for a spot of joy. A joy I haven't felt in many, many years.4
I found a bit of that joy when I found my Peter Pan. He is young and vibrant, living life as it comes, not worried about the future. From the start he made me smile brighter and laugh a bit louder.5
Even in the times when he was down he kept me happy. He made me smile as though it was his only goal. Hard times all around him but he took the time to make me giggle.6
Whenever I'm with him I feel so much younger. I feel as though I can be a kid again. I feel that he would push me on those swings to help me fly.7
Together we could fly to Never Land and be the kids we long to be. The only worry we have between us, that dreadful Captain Hook trying to steal our childish joy. The joy I've craved in my life since being forced to group up.8
Captain Hook has stolen that joy once through the simple words "Grow up," "Quit being a baby," "That's so childish" and"Act your age." I'm not letting him steal it again. Even though My Peter Pan and I are no longer a couple he shall always be my Dear Peter Pan. He is the one who brought something back from the dead and made me believe in fairies again.

I really enjoyed reading this.
It wasn't what I thought I would get for the Peter Pan option. I liked how you made the choice your own and definitly went creative.
We all miss our inner child and the days when we could just have carefree fun.
Thanks for making me smile and for entering the contest.

Peter Pan he tis indeed...he has always been that for Me as well. That sweet childish magical creature who brings joy everywhere he turns. He shall always defeat Captain Hook, he shall.

I know he will, the best is when he helps us to beat Captain Hook for a while also.

Second star to the right and straight til mourning(not misspelled!)
This story seems to portray that you miss your inner child, a feeling a good deal of us experience. Growing up is a sad thing, and often makes us wish we appreciated our childhood more.
Being almost 18, I dread each passing day as I slowly become an adult. I slowly came to realize with terrible grief that I wasn't Peter Pan after all. Though I still have my inner Peter Pan in me, I feel it slowly dissolving-something I greatly despise.
Despite the fact we all grow up (except for the real Peter Pan!), that doesn't mean we have to grow up in our hearts. Our fantasies and imaginations can still flourish, no matter what happens in life.
If you ever feel you're losing your inner Peter Pan, remember to shout "I do believe in faeries! I do! I do!"

I do miss my inner child many times. I miss the freedom she had from worries. I have a dear friend that reminded me to let her out a bit and I love him dearly so he is my Peter Pan.
Don't lose your inner child but don't be afraid to grow up, we all just have to find a way to make them as equals within our lives.
