It turns out George transfered to ALL my classes other then dutch and band because he had always been in those. If I hadn't been on my period I would have jumped all the way to band, but I am so I didnt . The reason I was so excited was because the all-state list had come out. I'm first chair trumpet so I had to try out, Jackie tried out for saxophone and Kasey for flute. When we got into the band room Mr.Yopp told us we wouldn't need our instruments. I sat down next to Jackie and Kasey in the back and watched the rest of the band fill in. George sat in front of us with another trumpet player Josef. On a side note George plays tuba which will be important for you to know. So when everyone was here Mr.Yopp turned to face us. He said "I would like to congratulate everyone who tried out for all-state, but only five of you made it." He paused for dramatic effect. "Third chair tuba is.... Mr. George Bloader!" Me, Kasey and Jackie clapped and the rest of the band screamed. "Second chair Saxophone Is Jacklyn Tacy Summers!!!!!!!" Jackie jumped up and down screaming. "Second chair percussionist Garrett Rudd and third chair Percussionist Connor Wilson." They both started running in circles. I felt my face fall, if Mr.Yopp hadn't announced by now I must not have gotten in. "And last, but most certainly not least first chair trumpet is........ ISABEL EL-MAGRABI!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I looked up very confused "What?" was all I could whisper. "Your first chair, girl!" Mr.Yopp exclaimed. I just sat there paralyzed. Then something happened, Jackie and George both poked me at the same time and something clicked. "I'm first chair." I said and mr.Yopp nodded. Jackie and I jumped up at the same time screaming and jumping. After about five minutes we sat back down. George turned to me and said I did a good job and I smiled. I really think I'm starting to like him.
