Character Name: Gregory Bell1
Nickname: Greg2
Physical Appearance-3
Gender: Male4
Age: 175
Height: 5’10”6
Weight: 1907
Hair: Wavy, dark brown; clean-shaven face; covers up hairy legs and other parts of his anatomy8
Eyes: Sepia9
Distinguishing Marks: There is a large indentation in the middle of his nose, which he is not able to afford to get fixed. He usually sports some type of injury, i.e. a black eye, cut lip, bruises on his torso.10
Distinguishing Mannerisms: Flails his arms around and kicks a lot when angry. He also tosses his head and starts to growl in frustration when provoked. Also, he has a tendency to pinch the bridge of his nose or rub his forehead. Whenever standing, he paces or fidgets, by crossing and uncrossing his arms, or running a hand through his hair, or twirling an object, like a pencil. Almost always is clenching his fists or teeth.11
Describe the character's appearance in a brief paragraph: At first sight, he appears to look like some love-child of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. He has wavy brown hair that he keeps short, so he does not look like ‘some skater punk.’ His countenance is always furious and his facial features are rather rugged and masculine. Gregory moves about with an air of confidence and a ‘don’t touch me attitude’ and is usually clenching his fists or glaring at someone. When it comes to clothes, he sticks to dark jeans – though not necessarily black – and darker colored clothes. For his lifestyle, he is also very muscular and is sports some type of injury.12
Background-13
Birth date: December 14, 199114
Birthplace: Clearwater, Florida15
Ethnic origin: A mix of European ancestry16
Family members:17
Mother (Joanne Garden)- She is a rather uptight and selfish individual who left Gregory’s father for a younger man. Joanne says that she could never love someone as violent as her son, Gregory. Although she pays more attention to Gregory’s brother, it is obvious that her interests lie inward. Her favorite hobbies include smoking, visiting her son in the police station or principle office, and popping Valium pills in her mouth.18
Father (Richard Bell) – He is a sportswriter for the local newspaper. His hobbies include hiding his connection with his son Gregory (even as far as to go and try and loose his guardianship rights), playing golf with his friends, bragging, and watching sports on television. Richard has honestly put effort into changing his son Gregory, but has failed – so he has given up on his son altogether. Usually he likes to pretend he does not exist, though it never works, for Gregory is a constant source of stress for him.19
Brother (Archie Bell)- Charismatic and blond (from his mother’s side), he is handsome and charming. He is two years younger than his brother, and though he shares similar facial features, is able to appear softer and kinder – just by smiling. Archie is manipulative and deceitful. Whenever given the chance, he shows his brother his superiority. Although not a genius, he is very clever and persuasive – which seems to land his brother in trouble. Both parents favor him; however their presence in their home is very limited.20
Personality-21
In one word: Belligerent22
First impression: Angry, tough guy23
Gets angry at: Bragging, country music, the teacher yelling at him, everything about Archie, his mother’s boyfriend, his father and his friends, waking up early, authority figures in general, speeding tickets, guidance counselors, slow computers, cliques, stuck-up people, rich kids, rich people, his mother, liars, school, crappy truck, leaky faucet, ovens, commercials, and so forth.24
Laughs at: Other people’s misfortunes and watching someone get hurt, which may be the same thing. Also, finds Dave Chapelle and Carlos Mencia hilarious. He does like perusing the comedy network channel, and he especially likes raunchy humor or dark humor.25
Cries at: Nothing – at least, that is what other people know. Sometimes he does cry when he gets too angry or when he realizes the repercussions of his actions. This happens infrequently, and when it does, is usually issues concerning his family or close friends.26
Regrets: Beating up his brother Archie when Archie was just a little kid. It is an event that he knows that he will never forget or forgive himself for. He has sworn to himself to never hurt any child or Archie, really.27
Vulnerability: Being teased about how much his life reeks. He also hates the penetrating eyes of guidance counselors or psychologists; basically people who study him. These things usually break down his exterior, and he reacts with anger or runs away (not always literal.)28
Prejudices: He thinks of rich people as the scum of the Earth. Authority figures are just power hungry and cruel. Also, he views that men in suits are butt-kissing, greedy pansies. Gregory sees girls as attention whores and as things that can be used.29
Fears: He fears prison, because that would lower his chances of being able to have a life. Also fears people figuring him out and exposing his secrets. Really does not want people to know that he beat up his brother badly – or why his brother is so jumpy. Gregory hates watching Asian horror films, because they scare him and make him paranoid for days. He also has an abnormal fear of clowns.30
Most valued possession (and why): His pair of brass knuckles. (Just kidding.) He has an old, red Chevy truck that he both hates and loves. The truck is usually unreliable (which makes him angry), but when it works, it makes Gregory extremely happy. Gregory takes pride in his car and drives it around everywhere. Basically, he drives more than he actually walks.31
Pressing need: His red Chevy truck - without it, he can not go anywhere and he is emotionally attached to it.32
Pressing desire: Despite what he says and does, he is actually much different. He really wishes for someone he can relate to, maybe a new girl friend or becoming closer to his brother, Archie. Also, he wants some peace of mind. 33
Other goals: Gregory does not want to go to college, but he knows that he should. He wants to have some type of career after high school or college to make sure he does not live in the ghetto. 34
Responsibilities: He is responsible of taking care of any of his own business (i.e. meals, beating up a kid for trying to pick on him, teaching Archie how to drive.) Basically, he has to take care of the house by himself – though usually Archie does that job. Other than that, Gregory has raised himself and occasionally finds time to do homework.35
Sense of humor: Sick and twisted or crude; he basically likes seeing people get blown up or beaten up. Also, enjoys the “Chapelle Show” and “Mind of Mencia.” The comedians he likes vary, but usually are Frank Caliendo, Bill Engvall, Jeff Dunham, etc. Gregory also watches shows on MTV like Wild Boys and enjoys dead baby jokes.36
Other positive personality traits: He can actually make friends, unless he is provoked. He enjoys a good joke no matter who it is from. Gregory is also very athletic and strong, making him great at protecting himself and playing sports. Also, he is easily motivated and clever – when he thinks things through. Past his rough exterior, he can actually be quite caring and protective, though he hates showing it.37
Other negative personality traits (character flaws): He appears to be unaffected by other people’s problems and remains emotionally cold, at times. The usual emotion he really shows is anger at someone or something. Also, he is impulsive and violent at times. Gregory has a hard time moving past his prejudices and refuses to be around them if he can. Usually, he is the person starting the fight and he has a habit of being thrown out of everywhere (i.e. concerts, school, and grocery stores.)38
Other details-39
Hobbies: He loves watching television, especially comedy television. His one true love, as of now, is driving his truck around. Also, Gregory enjoys partying (which may or may not include using drugs or alcohol), heavy metal music, brooding when to himself, picking on others, working out, and playing sports. 40
Skills: Gregory is great at playing sports, especially football and wrestling. He is very strong and usually uses this skill to hurt or intimidate others, when he needs to. Also, he carries the ability to form a cloud of ‘negative energy’ that surrounds him so that he can walk through the halls without people coming within two feet of him. Although he does not brag about it, he can also imitate a dog barking really well. If he took the time to think things through or to really concentrate on his homework, people would be able to see his intelligence – though at times, he seems to try and want to hide it.41
Smells: He smells of aftershave (unnamed brand) and usually Axe or Tag deodorant. Usually people do not get close enough to actually smell him, unless Gregory is beating up someone or working out.42
Favorite color: He loves the color red, though he does not wear it often. It is the same color of his truck, and has been his favorite color since he was eight. Gregory believes that his like of this color was because of liking Superman as a kid. Red just stuck, somewhere along the line, blue did not. 43
Favorite foods: Gregory loves Chinese take-out (lo mein noodles, dumplings, sushi, etc.), pizza, French fries and burger (BLT, preferred), burritos, chili, strawberry yogurt, and Rocky Road ice cream.44
Favorite beverage: A nice cold bottle of root beer. (Also, enjoys expensive, foreign vodka.)45
Favorite music: Heavy Metal; bands like Tool, Trivium, etc.46
Favorite clothing: Jeans and a t-shirt, preferably darker in color47
Describe this character's home: His house is large and spacious, modern and uncomfortable. It has a second story, though he still somehow has the misfortune to have to share bathroom with his younger brother. Furniture is more functional and the colors of the house are neutrals. The greatest piece of furniture in the house, according to Gregory, is their large screen television with surround sound. On the outside, their house is made of stucco and brick. It is a pale yellow and the lawn is plain, though kept well. There are no flowers anywhere around the house.48
What complications arise from this character?: This character is usually the one that causes discord in the lives of the people around him. Gregory is trying to change his ways, though he has to get rid of some of the people in his past and cover up for what he has done. (This just leads to more problems, though.) Also, he really wants some type of friendship with his brother due to his guilt, perhaps. Despite his sincere efforts, he causes trouble where ever he goes.49
Comments/Notes: Gregory is not your average seventeen year-old. He has played around with drugs, alcohol, and women – which he sometimes regrets, though usually never. He is trying his best to not get in trouble, even when he is bound to. His largest obstacles will probably be getting over his anger issues and the mistrust and hatred towards people of authority.50

Very good
Good entry, very descriptive, but I'm noticing a pattern... Every chaacter I get has the worst life, he is aggressive and angry, his parents hate him and favor his sibling, there is a sickening pattern here that steals from the variety... This entry however had plenty of detail and is a rather valid and usable character, so thanks for the entry!

Thanks!
I can't say that my character has the worst life, per se. Though I do see what you mean in a pattern. If the entries were all of average people, you would just be bored and have nothing to build up on. So...even if it seems cliche after awhile, at least you already have a conflict for whatever you are writing.
Good luck choosing the winner!
