Interview

I sit down across from Durian. The glowing, bright light is shining down on us like it's a play or something. I hate those spotlights...so much pressure.1

"Thank you for having me today, Durian D." I say smiling at him.2

"No, thank you," He says smiling back. He stops smiling. "So, how have you been?"3

"Good, thank you. What about you?" I ask as I stop smiling also.4

"Great. So, what started you writing?" He asked as the bright light dims a little.5

"I think it was just my own mind. In the 4th grade, I had to write little stories in class and that did it. The more stories I wrote, the more I liked it and started writing more." I say laying back in my chair.6

"I see. What is your main inspiration?" He says.7

"My main inspiration is...hm. Well, Evan, a friend of mine who is a wonderful write, gave me some inspiration. So did my other friends, Kaycie and Erin. Oh, and my teachers. They are all so supporting." 8

"Great. What about a routine for your writing? Like, do you write in the morning, afternoon? What?" He asks, interest in his eyes.9

"Um, I usually start writing if an idea takes place in my crazy mind but I usually write in the afternoon. Like 3:30 P.M. or so." 10

"Great! What's your primary genre?" He asks leaning back in his chair.11

"My primary genre is probably fanfiction and real life. They are really fun to write."12

"Fanfiction and real life huh? Great genres. How do you plan your characters? Do you see them in someone else? A little part of you?"13

"I usually plan my characters out by a little of me and who I want to be or look like." I laugh a little. So does he but it's more of a chuckle.14

"What is your thought pattern on coming up with the names for your characters?"15

"Kind of similar to my last anwser. Um, names that I wanted my name to be or just the ones I like. Sometimes I get the names from my friends names or my familie's names."16

"Do you outline or do you just go with the flow and leave the proofing to later?"17

"I sometimes outline but I usually just go with the flow." I say waving my arms like the ocean dance thingy. He laughs a little.18

"Okay, do you proof alone or do you allow someone else to assist in this?"19

"I sometimes have Evan help me but I usually do it myself."20

"Do you have a good luck charm?" He says leaning towards me.21

"Um, I don't think so. When I pick up a pencil, I can't help but write on something. It's just like my hands and fingers have a mind of their own."22

"All right. Thank you for your time and good luck with your stories." He says getting up.23

"Thank you so much and your welcome." I say as I get up. I walk out of the building, waving as I do so. 'I think that went well.' I think.
