She has a Heart shaped face, she comes from Arabic descent on her fathers side and french from her mother's side. She always wears a gold bracelet to remind her of her mother. It consists of a half heart and half moon, both meaning love and serenity. 13

Background- Helena's father was Arabic, he came over from the states and married her mother. Helena has an odd look of the world and often finds herself drifting off into dreamland. Even in school. 14

Her father's family is filled with businessmen, while her mother's family is filled with ranchers. Her brother died when she was 6, he was four years older, Helena saw him murdered. It changed her forever. When her mother died soon after it only hardened her heart more towards her father.15

What complications arise from this character?49

When her father refuses to listen to reason Helena decides to leave on her own. Her stepmother is cruel and doesn't love Helena like she should. She beats her when her father is away at work, Rachel is too young and doesn't know what is happening is wrong. When Helena finally fights back and injures her stepmother she suddenly feels guilty. She runs away heading off into the woods which surround their home. 50

Helena's father works at the ranch, he sells cattle and horse stock for a living. They make a pretty good amount from it, he attends national competitions and sells thousand dollar colts and fillies. Helena hates her stepmother, who in turn hates horses. 52

Helena has problems and often seeks council with Ethan, a man who lives a few miles from them. He's in his twenties and Helena finds herself infatuated with him.
