The day that started it all was no ordinary day. There was an thickness to the air that people were not familiar with. What they did not know was that the thickness of the air would soon be suffocating them more quickly than a mother runs to her fallen child. Seven men came walking in wearing copper jackets and all had the same mission. Their mission was to convince each of the 88 people in the community to submit their bodies and end their lives , and in return, they would always be remembered. But, if they did not give their life, they would never be acknowledged in society again. The plan was, to ask each person individually to state which choice they would choose.1
As each person took longer and longer to decide, the air would get significantly thinker and resulted in a very hard climate to breathe in. If the people did not make a decision quickly, soon they would all be dead from lack of air. Continuing on, they all came to a final decision. Yet, their one problem was that they had taken such a long time to decide all of them suffocated and died. The 7 men fortunately survived and figured out everyone’s vote. The final count was 53 gave their life, and 35 kept theirs. The copper clothed men all decided on burying them and giving them a rightful death ceremony. They put the people who gave their lives in black coffins, and the ones who did not give their lives in white ones.2
Right before they put the dirt back over the now dead citizens, one of the copper clothed men pointed out that they had promised to carry out the 53 people who gave their life. They then decided to name them from the alphabet in order to be able to address them properly. They started with A, then went to B, C, D, E, F, G, but that’s as far as they could go, for none of the 7 copper men were educated enough to go on. So, as a group, the decided to just repeat them till their were no white coffins left. As, they went on burying, another copper clothed man realized that they were not being fair to the black coffins, so they again, as a group decided to give them names. None of them knew how to count, so they again decided to used the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. But since they wanted to distinguish a difference between them, they called them sharp or flat. So, in conclusion, they buried them. 3
As a group, just like always, the men decided to make a musical instrument to play songs dedicated to those 88 men and women. It consisted of 88 keys of which 35 were black and 53 were white. In order to make a successful song, they all needed to work together to make one flow and one sound to dedicate to that community. The 7 men divided the piano into seven octaves in representation of themselves, and gave the piano three pedals. All three pedals were copper just like the men were. One pedal kept the piano quiet, one made it harsh, and the other made it flow and make the tune quite melodic. That is the story of how the piano came about.4
