Everyday they woke up to the tan streak of sunlight making its way through the tiny holes in his blinds. He held her tight, so tight that she could feel his organs pumping blood. He wasn't as strong as she thought he would be, he cried every night, and she, of course, held him in such a way that, for a split second, she made herself believe that she cared. 3

She had her morning coffee, French Vanilla to be exact. Her favorite. She grabbed her wide, blue cup, the black and gold vintage patterns running along the edges made it glow, screaming 'Happy Anniversary.' She sipped the hot liquid, burning her tongue and staining her whitened teeth. Just how she always took it. He entered the foyer, leaving behind the fog the steamy shower produced. Adding no importance to this cliched morning routine. His white towel hung from his hips as he walked up to his darling wife and grabbed her waist, kissing her neck. Faking the effection that everyone else admired. 4
