]2Veggie ran into the medical room with her BR raised with Sarge trailing down the hall way.3
"Wait up Keri!" Sarge yelled downt he hall as she enterd the room quickly. 4
Veggie ignored him and entered. On the table was Merc and a couple doctors getting his armor back on. looked puzzled for a few seconds then asked a question. "How did the tanks work so fast? wasnt he shot in the heart?"5
The doctors looked at him and continued to put his amor back on and one spoke in response. "He was shot in the heart. Its hit one of his valves and exited out his chest. He was just internaly bleeding. About 30minutes in the tank and he was fixed up. Who ever shot him missed but not by much."6
"Well thats good. comon we need to get out of here. Merc can you walk?" Sarge asked7
Merc finally looked up as the last of his armor was sealed on. "I can do one better...I can fight..You got a weapon?"8
Veggie smiled and handed him a smg. "Its all I got, we didnt have time to hit the armory before we came."9
Sarge smiled "At least hes got a weapon now." 10
The doctors piped up "Wait..I still have one of his weapons that was on him when he arrived. here." The doctor went over to a desk opend up the drawer and took out the sword handle. He then threw it at merc who caught it and truned it on in a flick of a wrist. 11
"Well now I think we are set." merc said and stood up from the table. He put the smg on his outer thigh with a loud click and then headed to the door. Veggie followed him with Sarge following behind his BR raised and loaded. 12
Meanwhile....13
"Sir we are docking in the spaceship." The pilot said over the com.14
"good...Say in orbit for another hour. Once that hour is up anyone not on the ship gets left. We dont have the time to make sure everyone is here." Striker said.15
Striker then left the pelican and headed to the bridge. Once he entered the bridge he quickly headed to the computer and sent out a broadcast msg to all ERS Spartans. 16
Back on the planet.17
Merc went down the hall to the double doors with Veggie and sarge. Then a msg flahed over his hud. Merc opend the msg which read on his hud.18
"All ERS Personel you have one hour to get off the planet and into the starship. If you dont make it you will be left behind. We dont have the time or recources to stay in orbit for long. Good luck to you all."19
Merc shook his head..."this is bad..we need to get out of here quick." 20
"Veggie take point sarge you guard the rear. Lets get into a pelican as fast as we can."21
Merc then pointed to the doors and veggie walked through. Merc followed behind slowly sword at the ready and smg in the other hang. Sarge walked backwards BR pointing up and around the door they just walked through. 22
The room was bare except one pelican left. The others were either destroyed or taken off.23
Standing around the pelican was none other then Cancer and his minions. 24
"Damn..cover now." Merc said. 25
All three went into cover under a box that was nearby. 26
Cancer spoke to his minions "Kill everyone, and get this pelican ready. Its time to destroy that starship."27
Veggie popped her head over the box and looked around. Cancer was in the pelican surrounded by a couple brutes he was talking to. It looked like his ground commanders since they both had Hammers. 28
Merc looked at veggie and she gave her some hand signals and Merc understood. Merc looked over the box with her and quickly pulled her down. 30 brutes rank and file marched into the room from the far end doors. They all had Assualt rifles and Spikers. 29
"Ok...we need that pelican its the last one. We only have..." Merc checked his hud and saw they only had 50 minutes left. "45 minutes to get out of here and on that ship. Now heres the plan..." Merc said30
Meanwhile on the starship "InFamous"31
Striker kept checking transmissions of Marines and getting count of all personel on board. 32
"Sir we are still missing Spartan 456, 457, and 123 along with two platoons of marines. I take that back both platoons just arrived in 5 pelicans. One pelican is un accounted for sir. The spartans are still missing." One of the marines said. 33
"Ok keep that window open we give them another 30min then we close up shop and head out." Striker said. Striker checked the sensors on the ship and they picked up the three spartan Id tags. "I got them soldier they are still on the base looks like they are headed to the pelic....wait...omg...Lock down the doors now! Cancer is going to use the pelican to get inside the ship close down now! I have a idea to get them out of there...send a com transmission to them Tell them.. You wont be left behind..." Striker then headed out to the hanger bay. 34
Upon getting to the hanger bay he walked up to some of the spartans grab your gear we 35
have lives to save. 36
Meanwhile back at the base. 37
"Merc are you sure? If you miss you risk blowing up the pelican..." Veggie asked while handing him two plasma grenades and then handing one to sarge. 38
"I wont miss and if i do then sue me when the war is over." Merc replied while breaking out of cover and hiding behind a missle rack that pelicans usually carry into battle.39
Merc popped his head out from his cover and primed a grenade. He tossed it over the cover and stuck a brute in the middle of the marching brutes. the brute tried to get it off and the other brutes backed away but not fast enough. 5 went down in a blaze of blue plasma Merc then opend fire with his Smg and took another Brute down by surprise then the brutes fired on merc position. 40
"Ahh Merc...Merc Reaper I see you still live. Not for long...Kill him and bring me his head."41
Cancer ordered.42
Merc smiled "Why dont you kill me yourself? Or are you to much of a coward?" Merc yelled out to cancer.43
Cancer ignored his threat and jumped in the pelican. He punched the ignition and the remaing brutes jumped aboard while firing at Merc. Cancer then punched the pelican out of the hanger.44
"Son of a -blam!-...He left..with our only ride.." Veggie then slammed her fist into the cover making a huge dent in it. 45
"Dont worry...I got a plan...You know the outpost we got sent to? I saw a fighter there. If we can make our way back to the outpost then we can get to the ship before it takes off." Merc said while rushing back to Veggie and Sarge.46
"Merc, Veggie, Sarge come in. Do you read me? I repeat do you hear me? This is Striker." Striker's voice came on the com.47
"This is reaper we read you what are you doing out here? you should be on the ship." Merc replied.48
"Im not leaving you three behind I need you guys meet us at this loctation im sending to your hud. We will be waiting for you there. and guys...Be careful." 49
"Yes sir...oh and sir Cancer left in a pelican heading to the ship." Merc replied50
"Hes not he changed course not to long ago hes headed to a unknown location. The ship is in lockdown right now."51
"Ok sir we will meet you soon." Merc replied then he turned to Veggie and Sarge. "Were is Cancer going? What could he possilby need a pelican for?"52
Sarge then looked in shock..."Merc..what ever happend to our old base?"53
"Umm i believe it was torched why?" merc looked puzzled54
"Becuase...we had nukes under that building..." Sarge replied 55
"Oh no...cancer is going to nuke earth... he dosent want to destroy us...hes using us to get to the nukes...Bastard we have to stop him." Merc explained.56
"But how? If cancer gets ahold of the nukes..oh god..I know what hes after!" Veggie pipped up. "We need to hurry now...hes not after the nukes...oh -blam!- oh -blam!- oh -blam!-...Son of a -blam!-...why didnt i see it coming...Cancer isnt after the nukes...hes after the..."57
"No" Merc cut her off. "Its still there? but how?" Merc asked58
"Striker kept it...he hid it in the base...-blam!-...how did cancer find out?" Veggie asked59
"I dont know but we have to stop him at all costs..if he gets ahold of it we are all doomed everyone of us..we cant hide from it..." Merc ejected the empty clip from his smg which flew to the ground and made a loud clank noise while he loaded another clip in quickly. 60
"Lets move, Sarge you drive ill shoot" Merc sated and headed off to the gargae bay with the other two following behind.
