Welcome home

“I can’t wait to meet you’re parents. They seem really nice.” Jordan said as he drove on the freeway. His girlfriend, jasmine, and he were on their way to her parents’ cabin for the weekend. There, they were planning on swimming, hiking, and eating genuine food at this remarkable cabin.1

As they pulled into the drive way he saw that her parents were waiting outside for their arrival. He got out of the car and introduced himself politely. “Hi…I’m Jordan, jasmine’s boyfriend. It’s nice to meet you at last.”2

Her father replied, “Igualmente… I am very happy to meet you as well. She has told us many things about you. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ask you a few questions myself.”3

Jasmine finally spoke in behalf of Jordan. “Now daddy, don’t scare him off. We have all weekend for that. We have had a long drive, so is there somewhere we can rest?”4

“You know I’m just kidding with him pumpkin. Yes, you will have the room on the 2nd floor. It is quite amazing. You will find it suitable for the both of you.” her father grabbed their bags and escorted them to their room. 5

“Sir, how many stories is this cabin?” Jordan asked still shaken from their greeting.6

“It has 4 stories. But the 4th floor is off limits to everyone but my wife and I. not even jasmine is allowed up there, understand?” he stared at Jordan with a serious face; almost frozen for his answer. 7

“Absolutely… do you mind me asking why?” he asked, curious to what was on the 4th floor.8

“As a matter of fact I do. It is forbidden and you are not allowed up there. Are you clear on that?”9

“Yes daddy we are clear on that….right Jordan?” jasmine spoke before an argument came to action. Jasmine looked at both men with a small smile, grabbing a bag. 10

“Of course…so where is our room again?” Jordan said while entering the cabin.11

Jordan and jasmine made themselves comfortable that night. They lay in bed and decided to discuss their weekend.12

“You’re father scares me. What is his problem?” Jordan asked curiously.13

“You have to understand that I am his little girl. You are basically stealing me away from him. That is just how he pictures it. My mom and dad were broken up when all of us kids left the house. He is just being you’re average dad.” Jasmine leaned over and gave Jordan a passionate kiss.14

“What do you think is on the 4th floor? Have they ever told you?” Jordan wouldn’t let it go. He was obsessed on what was on that floor.15

“Actually I have no clue. What do you say about me and you taking a little tour tomorrow while they go to the store? We can go on the 4th floor and see what they are hiding and maybe have a little fun on the roof, are you interested?”16

“You bet I am. Girl, you turn me on so much. Turn out the lights.” She flicked the switch and the room went pitch black.17

“You two behave while were gone.” Yelled her mother as they pulled out of the drive threw. Jordan and jasmine waved as they were driving off to the store. 19

Jordan then grabbed jasmine by the hand running up the flight of stares. When they reached the door marked “4th” they stopped and hesitated. “Do you think we are doing the right thing?” Jordan asked as he stood before the door.20

“What could they be hiding? Honestly, I bet it is something like old furniture. They are probably just messing with us. They have to be testing us to see if we will actually stay out of the 4th floor.  Come on, or are you chicken?”21

Jordan never liked being called a chicken. He opened the door finding yet another flight of stairs. As they climbed slowly up the stairs, they questioned themselves as to what was on this floor. They finally reached the top to see nothing but an empty room.22

“Ok… so what exactly are we looking for? I don’t see anything up here.” Jordan looked around at the wooden floor which was the highlight of the room.23

“Wait… there is a door over there…let’s go.” Jasmine was eager; on a mission to find what her parents were hiding. When the door opened they found themselves outside. The 4th floor was one big patio. It had a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. And at the very corner of the patio, there was a small shed. Jordan went to look inside while jasmine jumped in the pool for refreshment.24

When her body lifted from the water, she wiped her face to open her eyes. Her smile faded when she noticed something in the Jacuzzi. Trying to focus on the object she called for Jordan. “Babe, come here and help me out of the water.”25

Jordan came and pulled her out confused or what she keeping her eyes on. As she moved closer to the Jacuzzi the object was becoming clearer. 26

“Do you see that? What is that over there in the Jacuzzi? Jordan, I think it’s…” and she stopped. Finally she could see what it was. Above the water was three heads barely visible to her eyes. Jordan could see exactly what she was looking at and looked for a devise that would drain the Jacuzzi. Once drained, they found that what they were looking at was real…they discovered 3 dead bodies.27

“Oh my god! What the hell is going on? Did you know about this?” Jordan was scared. He wanted to run but he waited for jasmines answer. 28

“Are you kidding me? I didn’t know anything about this! Those bodies are fresh. They can’t be more than a week old.”29

“Do you know who they are?” Jordan asked.30

“Yes,” Jasmine hesitated, “they are my 2 brothers and sister. Why would they do this to them?” jasmine came to realize that her parents were murderers. She started to cry and fell to the floor.31

“No baby get up…we need to get out of here.” Jordan picked her up from the floor and they started to run down to the 1st floor. When they reached the bottom of the last few steps, her parents were there with a bat and a gun.32

“Pumpkin, where are you going? What is the matter?” her father said with a sarcastic smile upon is face.33

“I saw the bodies’ dad. You killed your own kids! How could you do that?” jasmine spoke with such rage and sadness that she could barely breath. Her father charged at her with angry reached for her throat, but Jordan stood in between them.34

They both went at it; grabbing each other left and right. Fighting, they both fell to the floor wrestling one another until jasmine screamed off the top of her lungs. They stopped; both looking at up at her.35

Her mother hit her over the head with the baseball bat. Jordan quickly yelled, “NO!! You stupid bitch leave her alone!” he made his way to her trying to wake her. They her father came and pointed the gun directly at his head.37

“Please don’t kill me. Let me live. Leave us alone. We won’t tell anyone what we saw. Just let us go.” Jordan pleaded for his life and well as jasmines. But it was no use. The trigger was pulled and Jordan’s lifeless body lied next to jasmines. 38

The next morning jasmine woke in her bed with Jordan by her side. She turned his body to see the love of her life was dead. She cried but covered her mouth as she heard footsteps from downstairs. She quietly gout out of bed and tried to escape the cabin. 40

“Where do you think you are going pumpkin? Daddy has made you breakfast.”41

“You killed him daddy. How could you? I loved him… I’m going to the police…you both need help.” She ran but her father was blocking the door as he held the gun at her heart. “You won’t pull the trigger on your own daughter would you?”42

“Of course I will. You know, I hated when all you kids decided to grow up and leave me and your mother here alone. I know you had good intentions but you left us. Now, I have your brothers and sister back in the house. You’re the only one left that we need.” 43

“Your sick…” jasmine said but before she could finish her last thought, he pulled the trigger hitting her right in the heart.44

Her mother came in the room looking at her daughters’ corpse lying on the floor. She put a small smile upon her face and said, “Welcome home pumpkin.”45
