I like to sit alone at times and open my bible and just meditate on God. I like to sit still and let Him speak to me. I like to obey His command and just read where He leads me. I like to walk along the path of ever-green grass with the trees glistening in the wind. While the leaves sway back and forth and the beauty of the suns rays reflecting off the lake. I like to listen to the wind blow the waves of the water upon the shore. I like to sift my feet through the grains of sand as I walk barefoot before the Lord's Holy ground. I like to bow in Humble adoration before my God in Heaven. 2
I sometimes wonder what the guards who beat Jesus must have felt like. While they were sitting there beating Him, with blood splattering all over their faces, watching His skin swell up, seeing the pain in Jesus' eyes. How they could have just kept on going. What were they thinking? How did Jesus manage to carry His own cross after all that? If someone tells you that no one loves you, I know someone who was beaten and carried His own cross to die for you. "That is love my friend. No greater love than He that would lay down His life for a friend."3
Easter is a time where I like to reflect on my past and see the mistakes I've made. To focus on what I can change. And it brings me back to the cross of Calvary where Christ my Savior suffered, bled and Died!! He was crucified on that day. I like to think of victory. For Jesus defeated death and defeated satan as well. He was given the title "Victory in Jesus" and that brings me to the song of Victory in Jesus. 4
"Oh Victory in Jesus, My Savior Forever, He bought me and He sought me, with His redeeming Blood. He Loved Me ere, I knew Him, and all my love is due Him. He plunged me, to Victory, beneath the cleansing flood."5
Such a glorious song that speaks of so much love and passion!! It brings tears to my eyes during Easter to reflect on the pain that He suffered and had to endure. To sit there and close my eyes and just picture all the people mocking Him and cussing at Him. But He did this all for us and He endured to the very end. And so therefore, it brings peace to my mind that this world is temporary. I should bind my treasures up in Heaven and not here on earth. What I gain here on earth will not be in Heaven. So therefore, my heart is in heaven with my savior. So persecution, mockery, humiliation, will not be bothered by me in anyway. For Christ paved the way for me to have a more happier life and in Him, I am free. 6

To take those who are alive21
in Him to the Heavens far away22
Jesus is my all in all and23
it is to Him I fall on my knees24
To Pray to the Victorious Lord25
in hopes the world will one day see26
That it is only through the 27
blood can you be healed28
And once your receive Him29
your name is forever sealed30
In the Lambs book of life31
that is reserved for you and me32
It is the only reservation 33
that you will ever need34
Once you fall down upon35
your knees in prayer36
And cast on Him all 37
your worries and cares38
He will free you from 39
your burden of sin40
And He will cleanse 41
you from within42
And on the day your 43
life comes to an end44
Your new life up in 45
Heaven will just begin46

This made me smile while I was reading it, I remeber when I was young my Gramma would read her bible and cry, I would think why you want to read a book that will make you so sad! Now that I am older I also like reading the bible lol and now I know why she had a love for it even when tears shed, I think it is wonderful that you write for what you beleive in and very well writes at that as I have read thus far!

Hey Joy!! Just rememeber something, God will never leave us nor forsake us. To be a better Christian, we have to strive to get closer to God. We have to try and put our wordly ways behind us and put our hearts and minds on the heavenly realms up in heaven high above!! God is truly blessed when He sees His children living in His will!! My tears are falling once more for the emotion in your poem. I was crying before I got to your poem. My heart is so overwhelmed with joy and love for what Jesus did for me and you. It hurts me to know how much he loved me even when I denied Hin. I must say to you Lord again, I am so sorry forgive me. I know you have but I must say it again. Thank you for loving me Jesus. Lord you are my beloved always. Thank you Charles for writing this wonderful and heartfelt poem and story. God is so good to me.
