Dream a Little Dream

Emotions playing around in my head, music flowing through my ears. Eyes are bloodshot, sore and wanting to close. Not yet, just a few more hours, I can do that, I can stay away just a little longer. 1

Awake at three thirty in the morning and have yet to go back to sleep. It was all because of that stupid dream. I don’t scare easily, but this dream was the creepiest I’d had in a long time. I think it has to do a lot with the movies I watched yesterday. Saturday, alone and in a dorm on a chilly day, leads to lots of movies watched and believe you me, I watched a lot of movies. I even bought one when I went out once, yes I actually left my room, I need stuff, including food, yes, I left my room for that too, it wasn’t horrible food either. A Taco Bell microwave dish, not horrible, but I probably won’t get it again any time soon. 2

Sleep didn’t come to me easily, partly because I knew I had to go to sleep to wake up at eight to go to church. Music played next to my head, I was tired and it almost worked, but then I got hungry. I tried hard to ignore it, but I couldn’t. So, attempting not to hit my head on the way too low ceiling, I made my way down the ladder. A brownie, it was good, but didn’t quite suffice. I tried though, tried to make it work. I picked out my clothes for church, not quite ready to get to bed, finally I did, but I was still hungry. 3

With slight annoyance I got back up and made my way down. Turning the light on once again I made myself half a peanut butter sandwich. Folding the bread in half and grabbing a small bottle of water, I went back up. I ate the sandwich up there. Once again I attempted sleep. By this point it was past one. Finally sleep came to me, but so did the dream. I was an insane asylum. People were everywhere; they were all filthy. Some were sick, some were dying, some were dead. A Russian girl, with dirt on her face and long, dark hair lay curled up, she was dead and she couldn’t have been older than seventeen. 4

There was a house next to the place, seemingly connected. I went there, but fear held me back from going down the corridor or up the stairs. This was her place. She was dead and who knew what lay through the halls. 5

I was back in the asylum, a worker of sorts. It was night and my dad and sister were asleep on the floor, I couldn’t sleep, the place creeped me out. 6

A nurse beckoned for me. I quickly got up, I didn’t want to be with my dad, he scared me and I didn’t know why. 7

I walked down the aisle, glancing at the people on either side. A man stared at me from his bed, didn’t do anything, he just stared. I looked at the nurse, then spotted something out of the corner of my eye, through a small window. A man was talking to his mother, but his mother wasn’t there. Then she was, but he wasn’t. he would say something, then he’d disappeared and she’d appear. I quickly found out what the nurse wanted. She wanted me to run an errand. I instantly accepted it. 8

Walking to get my purse, flashlight and keys, I realized I would be going back to my dad. I hurried and got out of there, only to realize by the time I got to the car, I didn’t know where I was going, I didn’t care though. There was no way I was going back in that nut house, it was going to make me go friggin’ insane if I didn’t get out of there soon. 9

I woke after that and couldn’t get back to sleep and now that I think about, I’m not entirely sure why, but at the same time I do. It was a weird dream. Just after time passing, it’s not so weird, I’ll be able to get to sleep tonight, I hope. 10

I definitely hope so. I don’t want to stay up for another friggin’ twenty-some hours. I may have to find some energy shots if I do. Sleep deprives me, I must have it though, I must regain sleep. 11

Okay, I have to admit that, while I was kinda confused the whole time, I was also totally creeped out, but I guess that's good. It's probably what kept me reading.
Are all your dreams like this?
