Rosana launched herself into the darkness with a cry. It was a beautiful, crisp midnight; no stars, just sheer velvet black sky stretched above her like a curtain. Already she could feel the blood flowing through her veins, the pulse of her heart filling her up with the primeval urge to feed, to sink her pearly fangs into a soft white throat. The thought of warm human blood was enough to make Rosana wild with hunger, long sleek black hair flying behind her as she ran through the earthy-smelling woods. This would be her first hunt. At nineteen, Rosana was the angelic hazel-eyed eldest daughter of her father, Horde, who was the legendary vampire king, a dashingly handsome man that was rumored to have bitten the necks of five hundred humans in one night. She was sent by Horde to slay Avery, her rebellious and evil half-brother. Avery had vanished from the Vampire School in the middle of a lesson, threatening Rosana as well as the rest of her classmates that he would wipe out the vampire race forever. He was born more human than vampire (Rosana's mother was a cross), so therefore his lust for blood was too weak, his desire to hunt had evaporated before he reached fourteen. This made him extremley dangerous. 78
Breathing hard, Rosana froze under a massive willow tree, its branches amber-gold in the rich glow of the moonlight. In the dark her cat-like eyes widened, pupils absorbing every fleck of light and motion, long pale eyelashes fluttering wildly like moth wings as she tried to detect the stranger shifting in the trees. 910
"Show yourself to me." She yelled out, jet hair flashing as she spun around to retrieve the jagged knife strapped to her tight dark jeans. Somewhere overhead a bat fluttered, its small wings beating fiercly as it divebombed a hapless tiger moth. Rosana felt her stomach clench like a fist, shaking in fear and annoyance. Whatever it was, she could feel the eyes burning holes into the back of her head, relishing the sight of her lush ass, full pushed-up breasts, and long legs all covered up in shiny black leather. 1112
"No more games, if you don't come out in five seconds I'll hunt you down myself!" 1314
All of a sudden there was a low, silky male chuckle and Rosana held out her knife protectively. Something tall and well-built crawled out from the bushes. She gasped at the glint of blood-stained fangs, the small upturned nose, blacker-than-midnight thick hair and eyes that were so blue they looked fake, like a doll's. A vampire towered above her, the moon casting shadows on the sharp hollows of his cheekbones, his sinfully full lips pursed into a sensual smile. 1516
"My dear, sweet sister." He circled her slowly, not even fazed by the long knife she held up, ready to stab him if he dared bite her. His eerie blue eyes, piercing under black slashing brows, flickered with pure menance. 1718
"Give me your throat." The vampire lunged forwards, long fangs bared for the kill. "It would be my pleasure to drink the blood of such a lovely creature...you are Rosana, aren't you? The daughter of Horde himself. Ah, yes, your regal blood shall taste as rich and fruity as the finest wine." 1920
"Don't even try it", Rosana thrust the knife at him viciously. "You didn't even give me your name." 2122
"Valken", he hissed, offering a glimpse of his delicious-looking white throat. "We are both the same, you and I; bloodsuckers, night feeders, monsters that prey on one another to survive. Can you not feel it, sister? Can you not feel the sweet, honey-sticky blood that pulses in your veins, do you not squirm and cry and kill in order to sustain that one tiny thing? Your life. You have so much life I can almost taste it." 2324
"All male vampires are the same!" Rosana shrieked. "Always want one thing and one thing only: blood. First it's sex in human form, then blood as a vampire. Your words disgust me, Valken." 2526
The two of them danced around one another, exchanging taunts, kicking and punching, snapping at the crisp night air with their fangs shining. Oh god, she needed his blood! Valken hovered just out of reach, powerful arms folded across his chest. It was then he unsheathed the razor sharp samurai katana sword, tilting the blade ever so slightly to admire his beautiful reflection. 2728
"I'm sorry, Rosana, but I'm going to have to kill you now." He took a step towards her, then another, his combat boots pounding the dry cracked earth, lips twisted into a sneer. With a surge of adrenaline that electrified every sensation, Rosana wheeled away from Valkan's sword and, with the speed and elegance of a pouncing jaguar, plunged her knife into the vampire's throat. He moaned in agony, his voice nothing but a sickening gurgle, bright crimson red blood covered his chest and was gushing out like a river from the wound in is throat. Smiling in triumph, Rosana sliced open one smooth cheekbone, the contrast of livid red oozing over frosty white skin suddenly arousing her in a way she couldn't explain 2930
"This is what you've always wanted." Valkan was growing weak, blood trickling down the corner of his full kissable lips. "Go ahead, bitch. Feast on me." 3132
Rosana sealed her mouth on his, delivering a passionate tongue-tangling kiss as more blood rushed into her body. She sank her fangs into his swollen throat, the sensitive white flesh tearing like cheap fabric as she bit deeper and deeper, almost orgasmic with hunger while crimson threads bubbled up. 3334
"Mhmmm, you taste like wine, handsome", she cooed into Valkan's ear. Disappointed, Rosana shook him by the shoulders to find him lifeless, his pulse gone. He was dead. 3536

Author notes
Well..never wrote or as much as considered writing a vampire story before, so be nice on the comments (I know it needs a little work) and hopefully the characters (Rosana is my favorite) have enough personality and depth to keep you hungry for more!

Rich and vivid. The darkness and the strange passion of the vampires mix beautifully, this is a long way from being one of the standard vampire stories. The story is increadibly rich, every word flows beautifully

Wow!!!
Wow! The descriptions in this are breathtaking, gorgeous, marvelous! I was so wrapped up in imagery I felt as if I were a part of the story! Everything about it was fantastic! The dialogue was dark and seductive, especially the bit of humor at the end. lol. Very interesting plot, characters(Rosana is so cool! XD) and words! If you decide to write more, please message me! I'd LOVE to read the continuation!
Fantastic job on this! I am rendered wordless on the excellence of the setting and words in this! Great job!
