Noah Evander - 20041
“An angel is stalking me mommy." 2
My mother whips around, a knife clutched in her hand, her eyes wide with surprise. She doesn't say anything for a minute which tells me she was thinking really hard about how to answer me. She did this a lot. I couldn't help the things that came out of my mouth. Most of them were lies but this one was definitely completely true. 3
"Honey..." She starts, placing the knife on the table as she sits in the chair in front of me, "Angels only live in heaven, they can only watch over us from above."4
"She's not what you'd think an angel would look like. She doesn't have wings and she doesn't wear white. She looks like a normal person." I reply, purposely ignoring her answer, "Her name is Charlie Evander. Mommy why does she have our last name? Can angels have last names?"5
Mommy turns pale, the blood leaving her faces so fast; it was almost as if it was never there in the first place. She stood up and took a few steps towards me, making sure she towered over me. I couldn't see her too well since she was shadowed with the light behind her head. When my eyes focused, I could see the anger and sorrow written in her eyes. I immediately wish I hadn't said anything about Charlie. 6
"Get away..." I heard Charlie whisper. 7
I turn to the corner in the kitchen where I first met Charlie. She was there again, hugging her legs with her rosy cheeks slowly turning pale.. Can angels have rosy cheeks? I wanted to ask mommy but I knew I shouldn't say anything. I already made mommy mad. 8
Mommy looks over to the corner I am looking at. I freeze and reach out to grab her before she goes over. I don't want her to hurt Charlie. 9
"Stop crying Charlie, mommy will hear you." I accidentally slip out. 10
Mommy slowly turns her head to me and I could see the tears brim her eye lids. I don't know what's wrong but suddenly, she slaps me. The slap stings long after she leaves the room but the tears never came. I turn to Charlie, but she's not there.11
"Charlie, don't leave me too..." I whisper. 12
Mommy walks back in a later. She looks over at me but not for too long. Charlie is following her to my dismay. She doesn't look at me either. Was I not supposed to tell mommy?13
"Mommy can't see me." Charlie says, still not turning to me, "Mommy won't believe you."14
She turns around and all along her face is blood, seeping from a large cut in her head. Before I can stop it a scream erupts from my mouth. Mommy turns around, rushing over to me, wrapping her hands tightly around my head.15
"Shhh, she's not there...she's not an angel..."16

omg, that was really good. Kind of sixth sense like. So did the mom like kill Charlie? taht was the only thing slightly confusing for me. Besides that it was superbly written!

The childish innocence, I hear it. All this is really impactful. The dialogue was great. Lurve the setting.
The ending was unexpected, I thought this could have been longer.
Ace job love.
