Pain

Marrisa knew her boyfriend had been cheating on her for sometime now, but didn't think much about it.1

"Boys'll be themselves," she told herself reassuringly. "They need more than what they should have." And she didn't question Michael about any of it.2

It was until two weeks after she had discovered his secret when she finally snapped.3

She was walking home from school, the cool breeze sweeping her hair lightly. She hummed happily, passing the park on her way.4

She saw Michael with Jessica, his other girlfriend, sitting in the park. Marrisa sighed. She knew it was wrong to watch, but...5

They were sitting under the large, flowering oak tree in the center of the park. Michael was stroking Jessica's face with such similararity that it almost made Marrisa burst with envy.6

Jessica said something to Michael, and he laughed. They stood up, held hands, and kissed.7

Marrisa watched with anger and excrutiating pain. Something in her brain snapped. She felt like stomping up to Jessica, and snapping her pretty little neck then and there. Marrisa tried to calm herself down, but her crazed mind wouldn't let her.8

"Revenge," she murmured, before she turned and left to her house.9

The next day, pre-autumn leaves swirled in the wind. Marrisa watched emptily, only thinking about her vengence on Jessica.10

"No one will miss little Jessica," she said, and grinned evilly to herself. She heard someone open her bedroom's door, but didn't turn around.11

"Breakfast is ready, Marr." It was her mom. Marrisa turned around reluctantly.12

"I'm not hungry," she grumbled. Her mom rose an eyebrow.13

"Oh, really?" she said. "How long have you been sitting on your windowsill? An hour? What a fine way to spend a Saturday. Just sit around and watch the grass grow."14

Marrisa felt angry again; very angry.15

"Get out," she hissed to her mother.16

Her mom only laughed.17

"C'mon, Marr. How about you and your friend Heather go hang out somewhere? It's a Saturday, after all."18

Marrisa stood up, poison spread across her face. Her mom obviously sensed it, too, because she began to back away.19

"Umm...Marr? Is there something the matter?" her mom inquired anxiously. Marrisa ignored her, and opened her underwear drawer. Inside, nestled in all of her clothing, was her small, razor-sharp pocket knife.20

Her mom noticed it clenched in her hand.21

"Oh, Marr," she gasped, getting the wrong idea. "You've been cutting yourself! Let me see; you need help."22

Marrisa put on a false smile.23

"No, mother," Marrisa said, walking toward her mom, the pocket knife in her hand. "I'm going to kill you now."24

Her mom's eyes widened. She laughed nervously.25

"Is it April Fool's day already?" she said, more to herself than to Marrisa. "Wait, when do you call me mother?"26

Marrisa shrugged it off, advancing on her. Before her mom could scream, "RICHARD!" Marrisa had already slit her neck.27

She marvelled at how much blood was dripping from her mother's neck. Her eyes had glazed over, and she had fallen with a thump against the wall. The off-white barber carpet already had drops of ruby red liquid stained on it.28

Marrisa looked at her mom one more time, before running off to get her dad.29

"DAD!" Marrisa had screamed fakely, yet in a convincing tone. "Oh, god...DAD!"30

Her dad stepped out from the bathroom.31

"What is it? What's the matter?" he demanded. His eyes were wild with anxiety.32

"It's mom," Marrisa whispered, faking huge sobs.33

"Where is she?" dad asked quickly.34

"It's too late. She's already gone." Marrisa paused. "She's outside of my bedroom door."35

Her dad rushed off. Marrisa was still holding the bloody pocket knife in her hand. Good thing her dad didn't notice.36

She walked into the bathroom to wash off the blood on her knife when she heard her dad's shouts of fear and terror and sadness.37

Marr smiled to herself.38

One not-intended target down. Two to go.39

Later on that day, the police came and questioned Sidney, Marrisa's younger sister, Mark, her older brother, and herself.40

"Where were you at the time of the murder?" a buffy officer asked her.41

"I think I was getting dressed," Marrisa sobbed falsely. "I went to go downstairs to see if the shoes I like best were in the laundry room. That's when I saw my mom. Her neck was slit...and...and...blood...and...oh, god, is she really dead?!"42

The cop seemed to buy her story. He nodded and stood up.43

"We'll ask you more tomorrow." He left the room, and Marrisa was left alone to think about her next murders.44

After what seemed fifteen hours, a cop poked his head through the door of the room that Marr was sitting in.45

"We're all done here," he said gruffly. "You may leave to wherever you wish now." He left. Marrisa smirked. How dumb could officers get these days?46

She left, telling everyone she needed some fresh air.47

She went to where Jessica's house was. She knew where it was, because that's where she first saw Michael with her; Jessica's front yard.48

She walked up her stone driveway, and up her walkway.49

And she rang the doorbell.50

The door opened reluctantly after a while. Jessica was staring directly at her.51

"Erm..." Marrisa was lost for words. How were you supposed to ask a complete stranger for entry to the inside of their house?52

But Jessica smiled warmly.53

"Aren't you Marrisa?" she asked. "Oh, come on in. My parents aren't home, and my older brother just left for band practice. What're you here for?"54

Marrisa stepped into Jessica's house. It seemed pretty plain to her. The only really-expensive looking item was the crystal chandelier that was hanging grandly fromt the foyer's ceiling.55

"Wait..." Marrisa glanced at Jessica. "How do you know me?"56

"We're in the same homeroom class, silly!" Jessica giggled. "Anyway, do you want something to drink? Soda? Water? Juice?...Beer?"57

Marrisa was shocked.58

"Beer?!"59

Jessica laughed.60

"I was just kidding! You're such a silly goose! C'mon, let's go to my room."61

They walked up the wooden staircase, down the hallway, past three doors, until Jessica's room was swung open, and Jessica stepped in.62

Marrisa followed. Jessica plopped onto her bed. Her room was a mess; empty soda cans were scattered on the floor, all of her stuffed animals were carelessly thrown here or there, and torn pieces of paper that had missed the trash can had been left to wither away next to it.63

"I know, it's a mess," Jessica sighed. "So, what're you here for, like I asked before?"64

"I...erm...I need to know what Mr. Benedict told us to do yesterday. You know, the project..." Her voice faltered.65

Jessica's blonde braid had a blue velvet string keeping it staying a braid. Marrisa could strangle her with that...but, no. She'd rather use a knife.66

Jessica blinked. Then her face was welcome again.67

"Oh, that! Here, I'll go get my agenda." She went to walk through the doorway that Marr was standing through.68

Marrisa grabbed Jessica's braid.69

"Ouch! What're you doing?" Jessica squealed. Marrisa leaned her face close up to Jessica's.70

"You stole my boyfriend from me," she hissed into her ear. Jessica closed her big blue eyes.71

"I don't know what you're talking about," Jessica lied.72

"Don't you lie to me!" Marrisa was quick pulling out her pocket knife. She held it against Jessica's throat.73

"Don't hurt me!" Jessica sobbed. "Please! I...Michael said you wouldn't notice...I didn't know it would end up like this! Please, don't kill me! I'm only thirteen..."74

Marrisa laughed harshly. She tugged hard on Jessica's braid, making Jessica scream in pain.75

"He was mine! And you stole him! You little pig! You little theif!"76

"Don't do it!" Jessica ended in a moan. Marrisa had moved her knife in a swift movement to Jessica's arm, and had cut deeply there.77

"That's what pain feels," Marrisa breathed into Jessica's ear. "Imagine it in your heart...I experienced it...because of you!"78

"Please," Jessica pleaded. Marrisa moved the knife to Jessica's heart. Blood was already dripping mercilessly from her arm.79

"Feel the pain; feel what you did to me." Marrisa, unfeeling, stabbed Jessica's heart. Jessica screamed, and collapsed on the floor, a pool of blood already under her body.80

Marr kicked her rib cage until she was certain one of her ribs had broken. She laughed insanely, and ran out of Jessica's house.81

Outside, she looked either way of the street, watching for cars. Then she crossed the sidewalk. It wasn't a long walk to Michael's house either.

oh my effin GOD! This is horrible, by murder! Her own MOTHER? And why to that? Should be glad she even has one! Do I?!? It seems not! But to do that to someone? And weren't you supposed to give a lesson about that? Oh well. It was creepy, but well written.
