Heart of the storm 2

Armaranda slumped against her binginds, the ropes cutting into her ckin, the acrid smell of smoke begining to rise from the wood at her feet filled her nose.1

Muithwar whimpered, he was beside her on the wood.2

"Go Muithware" she whispered, nudging the huge dog with her foot, he shifted slightly, enough for her to hear the rattle of chains.3

They had chained him to her post!4

Slow smoldering rage built up in her.5

"You would kill a dog as well!" she screamed "You would kill a dog for stealing sausages!? You are pathetic!" she hissed.6

The silence was thick. The rabid screams silenced by surprise. low murmurs from up the back alerted her to some supporters.7

Her feet were starting to get hot.8

Suddenly Mr Murdoch raised his voice and began the chant again. she could almost see the menaceing smile on his lips through his voice.9

"Burn her!Burn her!" He screamed, the chant grew with his supporters.10

Armaranda  could now feel the flames licking her legs, her pained scream echoed through out the valley.11

Valarius heard the cry, he flew. Bluring he was so fast, a gust of wind following his path.13

He flew over the crowd to the burning wood and the flames licking at teh girls legs, he broke the chain around the dogs neck, and ripped through the ropes binding her wrists to the backof the post.14

He lifted her and jumped. Up and away from the fire so fast no one knew what had happened until it was done and they were left in startled confusion.15

Armaranda felt cool wind on her legs and feet, the burning pain was intense, she screamed weakly, clenching her hands against her body.17

She felt a cool solid wall where she rested her check, felt her hair whipping around her head.18

I wonder if I died so quickly? she thought.
