chap. 1 Through The Night1
Two figures crept through the darkness. Unseen by the millions of eyes of commoners, walking around the unlit streets of Toren.2
"Ssh, they'll hear us!" The human shaped figure whispered, slinking across the walls of city buildings. 3
"Mistress, Mistress! Where are we going" The small almost dog shaped figure whispered back, ignoring what the other figure had said.4
No reply came for that question, nothing but the footsteps of commoners. The two figures turned down a street on the right that lead to a dead end, or what seemed to be one.5
"over here, Enko!"6
The dog shaped figure, now known as Enko, dashed over to the Human shaped figure.7
There was a gap in the wall between two buildings, just big enough for a small girl. The human figure sprawled out against the wall and went through as fast as it could. 8
"umm, Mistress...? Where have you gone?" Enko called through the 'alley'.9
"Come through you mouse-brain!!! And I told you to call me Chia!!!"10
"Sorry Mistress, Ugh...I mean Chia" Enko squeezed through the gap slowly.11
Chia and Enko came out in a massive square full of lights and stalls... but there were no people?. In this bright light it was clear that Enko was not a dog but a fox. Chia was a semi-long brown haired, blue-eyed, cat-like girl, of about 13 years of age.12
"Umm...Chia what would this place be, exactly?" Enko asked looking up at Chia's face. A face that was focused on everything around it.
